One man's temper may be the other's salvation.
Dillon Thorne went from almost getting kicked out of the Army to being a revered member of a Special Forces unit. When his commanding officer orders him on a protection detail, it's the last thing he wants to do. He's a weapons expert, not a babysitter.
Luke Rhine worked his way up through the Army and retired as a general. Life should have been smooth sailing. Only, things aren't going as well as he'd like. For one, someone wants him dead. For another, he's attracted to the soldier who's assigned to his protection detail, and damn if he doesn't want to kiss that smirk off Dillon's face.
There's a problem. Dillon doesn't do relationships and Luke's too old for anything else.
But one thing is clear . . . when the bad guys show up, Dillon will do whatever it takes to keep Luke alive.
Contains mature themes.

I listened to all 8 books in the Code of Honor series back to back and loved every one of them. My review covers the whole series in general because there is a story arc that is built on in each book and leads into the next series (Operation Justice Force) so it's all a good fit.
The series is well developed, each story is action packed, has good pace and likeable characters. I like my books a little longer, but overall I was happy with the series and will listen to it again.
Probably my least favorite of the series, I felt Luke deserved someone he shouldn't have to work so hard for, I'd have given up on Dillon - his remoteness tried my patience.
🎧 Narrator comment: Troy Duran was a good choice of narrator for this series and he did a great job with the narration. Each character had his own voice and I had no problem distinguishing characters from each other and his rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the characters to life. My only negative comment would be: the secondary characters (ie: other team members) voices were often inconsistent across the series - listening to each book separately I didn't really notice, but when listened to back to back the inconsistency was noticeable.
