Entertaining

I enjoyed this a lot!

Dani needs a fresh start so she moves to Amsterdam for that. But on her first week there, everything is going the wrong way. She then crashes her bike into Wouter, who was a exchange student who stayed with her and her family when they were both teenagers. He was also her first love who broke her heart. So they reconnect and they find themselves in different situations but with the opportunity to help each other.

I picked this one up for Prosed: a Romance Book Club, I didn't even know about it before it was chosen as our read for this month. But I do have some other books by the author on my TBR. I'm really excited to read the rest of her books now that I've read and enjoyed this one.

The romance was so good, they were in love as teenagers and they reconnect as adults. I loved the small details like how Wouter helps Dani learn more words in Dutch. Also there's a trope in here that's super important to the plot and I loved that.

I really liked the story. It was an emotional read for a few reasons and I liked the characters a lot. It was very entertaining.

I loved the ending, it was beautiful.

Superb story and narration

This is definitely my favourite story of the year so far. Fantastic story and the narration was excellent! The accents and animation were a delight, I didn’t want the story to end. Wouter is my new favourite book boyfriend!

Steamy romance rediscovered

The varied accents lent credibility to the characters; nicely done. The downside was that the volume fluctuates at times so great that I had to adjust to hear the soft spoken narratives and turn down when the exuberance of the conversation was too loud.

So cute!

Typical of what I’ve come to expect from RLS, this story is adorable and brings on kick-your-feet giddiness, but has some very relatable struggles and perfect spice. The narrator was great - perfect voice for the FMC. Loved this story and this couple!

Sweet love

Such a sweet love story. I loved that the characters were in their 30s and still figuring life out. Now I have to go to Amsterdam!!

Fantastic narrator!

4.5 stars, rounded up because the narrator’s Dutch accent was frickin fantastic! Lovely, spicy rom with a lot of thoughtfulness for the characters and a passion for Amsterdam. If RLS wasn’t an auto-buy before, she is now.

Great story and Narration

The story was so cute and honestly heartfelt. You can feel and characters develop and also steadily attraction and romance. Loved the narrator as well. She did an awesome job!

Love Letter to Amsterdam

This was a love letter to Amsterdam. For someone who wants to go, the sections where the author is describing the setting were the parts I lived for. I loved that the main characters were "just trying to figure things out" in their lives and it felt so real and relatable.
The only thing I couldn't quite get over was Dani…which is kind of annoying (like she is) since she's the main character. Her decision making is questionable and her entitled personality is off-putting. I did, however, think Wouter was wonderfully simplistically solid.
The narrator's tone was great however there were odd points where I could barely hear her and then it's like the volume was turned up full blast. 
Nevertheless, it's still a charming read.

Wouter’s voice is insufferable

Truly the voice is great for the main character but the man’s voice you literally cannot listen to. I live in the Netherlands and not only is it not a Dutch accent but it’s comical how bad it is

Inconsistent and at times inaudible Narration

The narration on this was in my opinion very poorly done. One minute I'm being screamed at the next you can't make out a word that's being said???? I felt like I was constantly having to turn the volume up and down through the whole book. I feel like the narrator could have conveyed a whisper or internal thoughts without becoming inaudible to the listener.
