No-Brakes Action Thriller

Holy hell, the pace on this thing! Every time I thought Blaze might chill for a sec, boom—more bullets fly. It’s lean, mean, and packed with strategy. Runner’s writing keeps you locked in. And James D Sasser? Dude’s voice fits Blaze like a glove. Absolute beast of a listen.

One Man Army Vibes

Blaze is like a smarter, meaner John Wick with military gear. He plans, he strikes, and when he goes full berserker—game over. No crying or soul-searching, just cold, calculated revenge. Exactly what I needed. Didn’t think audiobooks could hype me up like this, but here we are.

A brilliant entry in a consistently excellent series.

Great Action, Minor Pacing Issues

This audiobook is filled with adrenaline and action-packed sequences, but I found the pacing slightly uneven in the middle. There’s a stretch where things slow down before ramping up to an unforgettable final act. Axel Blaze is still one of the best characters in modern thrillers, and his takedown of La Manada is nothing short of epic. The narration carries the story smoothly through the slow parts. Overall, a strong and worthwhile listen with a few pacing hiccups.

I was hooked from the first damn chapter. Blaze doesn’t waste time, and neither does this book. It’s all muscle, no fat. If you like your heroes gritty and your villains nasty, you're in the right place. Sasser’s narration brings it all to life. Cartels, shootouts, vengeance—what more do you need?

You mess with Blaze, you better be ready for the storm. The way he tracks Salazar is so methodical, it’s scary. The cartel had no shot. Fast, tight writing with zero fluff. I’d take a dozen more of these. Audiobook was A+, thanks to Sasser’s rock-solid delivery.
