Very good mystery

Great story and characters with suspense and tense moments. Too much sex but otherwise enjoyed.

Yikes! Language!

I finally listened to one of these popular novels. Storyline was interesting but way to much bad language for me. Could do without the endless sex descriptions as well. Oh well, now I know.

First timer

First time with this author. I thoroughly enjoyed her. The book was well put together and kept you on your toes throughout. I will be listening to the rest of "The MindHunter" series. Thanks for a great book ~

Could be better

I like the storyline. I didn't care for the steamy sex scenes, stick to story

Waking Nightmare

I enjoyed the book. There were multiple explicit sex scenes that I wasn't expecting and I listen to mysteries a lot. The story was good and you found out who the unsub was while the personal relationships left some specifics hanging (in a good way). Although I do not have to read the next book in the series immediately, I will probably read it soon.

Bronson Pinchot elevates this to excellence

Kylie Brant's writing is compelling, her characters relatable and believable. This said, it is Pinchot's skill as a seasoned actor that makes it possible to become immersed in the story.

Enjoyed but...

I enjoyed this book. I had not read anything by this author, so it was nice to find a new series to begin. Very much enjoyed Bronson Pinchot’s reading.
My only complaint was the total lack of demarcation between chapters. I found myself frequently needing to back up to re-listen when a scene, location, or character would completely change from one sentence to the next with no warning.

Could have been a good read except…

Ms Brant appears to try to write ala Karen Rose with the overdone graphic sex scenes. The story could have stood on its own as did her characters. I might try one more of her books, but if this is her style, I more than likely will not finish it.

Good “Plus Catalog” Listen

I like the mystery/police procedural plot—as good as any Karin Slaughter or Lisa Gardner book, but this author also integrates a sensual component usually reserved for the romance genre. Since I like both genres, I don’t mind, but I can see how it might be off-putting to some purists. I did have the impulse to skip the details at least once during my listening, because it just seemed like an intimate moment that needed to be between them.

Bronson Pinchot is an excellent reader, though I wish he’d hold back on his “phone-sex operator” voice a bit. It’s just not commensurate with all situations the character happens to be in.

Still, it is a decent mystery with more than cliches carrying the plot. Great “plus catalog” listen. I will read more in the series.
