About this listen

Andrew Wakefield reveals the inside story of desperate parents trying to help their autistic children, only to be labeled as abusers by social workers, medical professionals, and the courts.

As the number of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders grows each year, new discoveries and controversies arise. Andrew Wakefield explores many of these in his thorough investigation of the recent trial case of the “Arizona 5,” which destroyed an Arizona family. Two parents, with five children on the spectrum, were accused of Münchausen syndrome by proxy - a rare form of child abuse - and were ganged up on by physicians, child protective services, and the courts, who alleged that the parents fabricated medical symptoms in all five children. However, Wakefield now presents ample evidence that was disregarded and which would have proven the parents’ innocence.

Families affected by autism suffer great hardship and prejudice, particularly as they navigate the uncertain waters of diagnosis, treatment, and education. The shocking story of the Arizona 5 family delves into the tremendous challenges some parents have to face, especially if their views on how to treat the syndrome don’t align with the medical world’s standards. Wakefield also includes numerous studies and research trials that support the controversial yet significant roles that vaccines and diet play in autism, factors many medical professionals wrongfully dismiss.

Editorial reviews

Andrew J. Wakefield explores unfair accusations flung at families of autistic children. He focuses on a specific case study: the "Arizona Five". While listeners may or may agree with Wakefield's perspectives on autism, they will surely enjoy actor Gildart Jackson's winning voice. With his British accent and excellent diction, Jackson's performance is smart and smooth. He makes listening to Wakefield's science almost an easy feat. The combination of Wakefield's controversial conclusions and Jackson's approachable pacing makes this audiobook an eye-opening one.

Autism can be reversed. Tragedy & Hope. Great read!

Ugly guts of the callous abusive system are shown so devastatingly clear.

May all the courageous parents, doctors, scientists and children be understood and supported in their efforts to help those in need.

May all preventable suffering be indeed prevented with a truly informed consent prior to the medical procedures! 🙏🏻

The Art of War on Autistic Children

A must read for any parent of an autistic child. Dr. Wakefield provides a brilliant analysis on a parents heroic care for their 5 children in which their third child suffered a catastrophic reaction to his 18 month vaccinations which included 6 shots on the same day.

After being 'fired' & ignoring, the evidence before her, an overzealous doctor at odds with another doctor for treating these parents children for immune deficiency and toxic lead level exposure decides to stop their beneficial therapies.

Entraping the parents at the hospital with their daughter, who had a persistent shoulder injury, evidence is collected to build a case of MDBP on not one, but absurdly all 5 children, 'The Arizona 5'. A panel of 4 Dr's including an overzealous academic psychologist prepare a report for a soon to be Arizona supreme court justice in which CPS seize all 5 children and give their parents only one week to plead with the court to get their children back.

The parents lose their children and are left to plead with another judge not to have their children 'caught up on vaccinations' when it is abundantly clear their children are clearly susceptible to adverse reactions, especially child 3. This is known as vaccine rechallenge and an important study by the IOM is recalled in which autistic children's symptoms post a single MMR vaccines are compared to an age matched second group which recieved a second MMR. Like those who are reexposed to poison ivy for example, the second group of autistic children had a worsening of symptoms when compared to the first group who only recieved a single MMR.

Rich with insight and studies for biological interventions for children with autism, this text should be a part of every parents library.
