About this listen

The next generation of the Internet is upon us, and innovation has taken center stage. Gone are the days where raw goods, monetary investment, or a large labor force are required to succeed. In the factories of today's world, information is power, and ideas are the currency of innovation.

Today, you must learn how to embrace innovation to manufacture ideas in ways unlike ever before in order to ascend the level of noise that pollutes the playing field. If you cannot embrace innovation and manufacture ideas that provide an insatiable amount of unique value, you will be left in the wake of the new Web's digital dust.

In today's Web 3.0 world, to succeed with an idea, you must learn how to base that idea in the principles and foundational components that offer the highest degree and possibility of nurturing and mutating your idea into a fast moving virus.

These viral marketing principles are at the very heart of what makes marketing and innovation in today's economy tick. By learning how to leverage and implement the strategies and principles of viral marketing, you can create your own fast moving virus that launches into a crescendo to infect the world and cause an idea epidemic.

Don't miss out on these valuable viral marketing strategies and principles from author R.L. Adams.

Some interesting insights on modern media sharing

A great starting point for those seeking guidance in the seemingly chaotic world of viral media. This book provided me with some new interesting insights on modern media sharing and manages to do so in a clear and concise manner. While it is a nice, up-to-date explanation, people seeking out this kind of book with have heard probably 90% of this content before (unless this is your first book on social media and marketing), though it would have likely been spread out over much, much longer books.

Incomplete and Buzzwordy

Surely if you are new to marketing this book will sound fantastic. For anyone who has been studying how ideas spread this book is very simplistic, buzzwordy and incomplete.

The basic formula of the book is to create things tat are easy to share, simple and pack 'tremendous value'. It's not that this is wrong, but it is incomplete. Many songs, artists, books and marketing campaigns have met these three criteria and failed to succeed.

Offering 'tremendous value' sounds simple, but it is like saying the secret to eternal life is to 'avoid dying'. There are a lot of examples in the book that are analyzed in a very shallow way.

I am sure the author is well meaning, so I feel bad about giving a two star review, but I have to be honest. If you are looking for a way to spread ideas and successful marketing there are other much better books out there. Start with Seth Godin and Galdwell.

Not worth even the cheap price

What disappointed you about Viral?

This was a one page idea fluffed out into a short book. It is made up of generalizations and platitudes.

What was most disappointing about R. L. Adams’s story?

He could have given concrete instructions but there were only brief ideas.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Bill Fike?

I don't know who to suggest.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment

Any additional comments?

I have to admit that I did not read any reviews before buying this book.
