About this listen

When Mr. Darcy left Hertfordshire after Charles Bingley's proposal to Jane Bennet, he promised to return in 10 days. When he breaks that promise due to events outside of his control, Elizabeth Bennet is left abandoned for over a year, finally joining the Bingley household as the second unmarried sister under Charles' protection. An invitation to Pemberley brings out the merry match-making mischief as everyone has a plan for their future happiness. Caroline is convinced Mr. Darcy has loved her all this time, Mr. Darcy struggles to seek Elizabeth's forgiveness, and Elizabeth just wishes to make it through this visit without constantly embarrassing herself. There's no better season for miracles, even if it takes a few elves to make them happen!

This is a sweet, holiday-inspired Pride and Prejudice fan fiction.

WOW. the narration is so bad it’s hilarious

I’ve been so distracted by the narration the story takes a back seat. I can’t recommend spending money on this audiobook

Well written, poorly narrated.

I enjoyed the story, but would not get another audio book by this narrator. Her cadence was off and she put emphasis in strange places. She would often stumble over words.

Bad Narration

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.

I love the P&P variations but, for me, the narration ruined this story. The narrator is an American and narrates with an American accent which is an odd choice for a British book. While she does provide different voices for each of the characters, none of them hit the mark and many sounded very old. The narrator also stumbled over the words many times. This just did not work.

Lovely story but the narrator is totally wrong.

I love the story but the lady who narrates this story is doing it in a bad way. The nasal tone when she speaks for Darcy or Elizabeth or any other person she sounds terrible. It is better when she just reads between the conversations of people. And American accent also sounds wrong when it comes to an English book and surrounding.

a quick read

Mr Darcy didn't to return for Elizabeth even during the wedding. Elizabeth resides with the Bingleys and thus came with them to Pemberley. Misunderstanding happened due to lack of communication but people conspired to bring the two to their HEA.
This is an unusual, short story from the author (am used to her lengthy ones) but delivered an entertaining story that can be enjoyed in one sitting.

I was given a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Sweet Christmas Novella

In this Pride and Prejudice variation, Darcy doesn't return to Hertfordshire after Lady Catherine's visit to Lizzy, and ODC never reconciles. A year later Lizzy has been forced to leave Longbourn due to her mother's treatment, and she heads to Pemberley with the Bingley's for the Christmas season. Unfortunately, another unmarried sister is also visiting, and Miss Bingley isn't going to let Lizzy take Darcy from her.

This was a quick sweet listen, perfect for the season. I really enjoyed seeing more of Anne and Georgiana, and Mr. Bingley is depicted as more of a take charge person, standing up to Darcy and teasing him. They seem more like brothers here than in the original. Lizzy and Darcy are very sweet together, and I loved their stolen moments.

I would recommend listening to the narration sample to see how you like it. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
