Wenn man 1922 in Wien geboren wurde, konnte man leicht seine Jugend versäumen. Als man 18 war, begann der Krieg, später kamen die Luftangriffe, und man verbrachte die meiste Zeit aus Angst vor den Bomben im Keller. Gab es keinen Bombenalarm, blieb die Stadt wegen drohender Überraschungsangriffe trotzdem verdunkelt. Ausgehen war unmöglich, die Jugend war dahin.
