Das bin ich, Robynne: Fuchsgestaltwandlerin, Meisterbogenschützin und gerissene Gesetzlose mit dem unbändigen Wunsch, Ärger zu vermeiden. Doch als mein impulsiver Bruder mit seiner fröhlichen Bande von Außenseitern eine vorbeifahrende Kutsche ausraubt, setzt dies eine Kette von Ereignissen in Gang, die mein Schicksal für immer verändert. Da es zu spät ist, sie aufzuhalten, entscheide ich mich für die nächstbeste Lösung: von den Reichen zu nehmen und den Armen zu geben.
Alles schön und gut, aber das bringt den neuen Sheriff von Nottingham auf meine heiße Spur. Die Betonung liegt auf heiß, denn im Gegensatz zu seinem Vorgänger ist Daniel ein muskelbepackter und pflichtbewusster Ritter/Drachengestaltwandler, der erst vor Kurzem von den Kreuzzügen zurückgekehrt ist. Einer, der alle möglichen neuen Begierden weckt…
Als Gesetzlose und Sheriff sind wir Erzfeinde, obwohl wir das Gleiche wollen: Gerechtigkeit für die Unterdrückten, die Rückkehr unseres rechtmäßigen Königs Richard … und eine Chance, unsere wildesten, heißesten Fantasien auszuleben.
Aber das ist für uns unglückliche Liebende nicht so einfach. Wir schreiben das Jahr 1193 – eine Ära von intriganten Prinzen, gierigen Kriegsherrn und skrupellosen Gestaltwandlern. Um unser Glück zu finden, müssen Daniel und ich uns auf listige, wilde Kämpfe und eine Liebe verlassen, die heißer brennt als Drachenfeuer.
Ich habe mich noch nie von Regeln, Erwartungen oder unmöglichen Umständen aufhalten lassen… aber ich muss zugeben, dass dies eine höllische Herausforderung wird.
