About this listen

When Eddie Brock becomes biologically linked to a bizarre alien symbiote, the two share a common goal. At first, they seek to squash their arch-foe Spider-Man. But after repeated attempts, Venom reaches an uneasy truce with the web-spinner. Brock leaves New York and heads west to San Francisco, the city of his birth, eager to put trouble behind him, but trouble has different ideas. Brock commits himself to becoming a defender of the innocent, but he's a six-foot-three-inch, 260 lb. figure with bulging muscles and fangs like a shark. Venom quickly draws attention - first from a furious Spider-Man, who's certain Brock has broken his word, then from a team of armored enemies who set out to kill the Lethal Protector. Venom joins forces with the web-spinner only to face an even deadlier threat: five trained killers, each wearing a symbiotic suit like Brock's. These are the Spawn of Venom, and they're out for blood.

The only thing I couldn't get passed and cringe each and every time....the way the narrator pronounced "roof." It's not a ruf, it's a roof. Guess that's a northern thing?

Literally LOVED 99.9% of this book!

I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes Marvel. Definitley worth listening to. Venom Universe is a universe id love to see displayed yet again on the big screen. Both movies were good.

Good stories

Not a bad audio book but the only down side is that there is only 1 narrator and he is very monotone.

Not bad at all!!!

The character voices were fine but when he was just narrating he kept pausing, after, every, word, like, a, middle, schooler, reading, out, loud.

Again. with. the. halting. speach.

The guy that narrates the story, reads it very slowly. Unsure if it's for dramatic purposes, or some other reason. It was mildly irritating at my typical preferred pace; but a ticks to the scale, had it hiking along nicely. Thoroughly enjoyed the tale. Would recommend.

Do yourself a favor, and speed up the narration.

Couldn’t get into the reader. Reads too slow for my liking, kinda sounds like Capt. Kirk reading.

Annoyed

I felt like the pace of the reader was to slow. Story wise it could have been fine but the nearly constant way the writer had characters saying out loud what was happening got old within the first 5 minutes. I think of myself as a trooper for making it all the way through this book. It’s a shame because this is the first marvel audiobook I’ve listen to since graphic audio. Loved all of those productions but now I’m afraid of buying any new books and getting a stinker like this one.

Not well done

Complete waste of a credit.

Narrator’s commentary is jarring and awful, story itself isn’t difficult to follow but as a fan of both Venom and MCU this story lends too much from both franchises, with details and story based from Tom Hardy’s Venom and also details used from Spider-Man 3 and Topher Grace’s Venom along with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man it has promise to make up its own original content, only made it 2 hours in before I couldn’t listen any more.
