This should have been called Tear Jerker Zero
While there was emotion in the earlier books in the series Vengeance Zero takes it to a whole new level. While this book has plenty of action it was the emotion of the book that caught me off guard.

Spec-ops is a family affair
Sarah needs some serious therapy. It's like no one recognizes this! Misha's turn around was also altogether too easy.
Frankly, the vengeance mentioned in the title and synopsis, takes a back seat to the little family drama. I had a hard time with the showdown between Sarah and the uber villain who has so much remorse and so many "honorable" rules that he lets his targets go more than once. It's all about vengeance, but the bad guy unbelievably backs off! Talk about zero vengeance.
This volume disappointingly kills off Maria on their honeymoon (sorry for the spoiler, but all the other reviewers also mentioned it), but introduces a new and up-and-coming character, a man this time. This just goes to show that the women can't really do the job and need to be replaced by tough men. I think I will like this fellow, but seriously, get Sarah some help, and get Mia a new outlet. She is also struggling with psychological issues.
I strongly disliked the choppy reading of all of Maria's and Misha's lines. This broken speech is supposed to express their accents, but just sounds stupid, and why would Maria have an accent anyway?

The dime store paperback of spy thriller books
this is the story of agent zero struggling to find the killer of his new wife and a former president. he goes off the rails of the crazy train for a while and then is rescued by his family in more ways than one.

Top-notch story and non-stop suspense!
One of the best series! My favorite of the entire series. I couldn’t stop listening until the end.
