De hele wereld is in shock als multitalent Roscoe Mulder onverwachts overlijdt. Tegen wil en dank doorgebroken als superheld in een hitserie, zat Roscoe nog boordevol plannen en ideeën: schrijver wilde hij zijn, en fotograaf, en muzikant. Het verlies is groot, maar bij niemand komt de klap harder aan dan bij de twee belangrijkste mensen in het leven van Roscoe: zijn grote liefde Livia en zijn broer Rafael.
Terwijl er postzakken vol steunbetuigingen worden bezorgd en social media overstroomt met berichten en speculaties van vriend en vijand, proberen Rafael en Livia grip te krijgen op hun verdriet. Door hun herinneringen reconstrueren ze het leven van Roscoe, een hypergevoelige jongen die worstelde met een neiging om alle leed van de wereld op zijn schouders te torsen.
