About this listen

Everything started the night after Jo’s mother was buried. When someone tried to kill her and she was pulled into something bigger than the mortal world she’d grown up in.

That was when she met Caius, a powerful and dangerous demon hybrid. She doesn’t know why he helped save her life that night; she only knows what she’s been told: The demonborn are enemies.

But the undercurrents in the immortal world run deep and treacherous and her new home isn’t what she thought it was. When she’s thrust into a dangerous journey with Caius and the truth about her heritage is revealed, she soon realizes the man who is supposed to be her enemy may be the only one who can keep her safe.

Great first book in the series

Loved this unusual story of demons, angels and reapers. When Jo and Victoria’s mother dies of cancer, the girls are trust into a world they didn’t know existed and the truth of their individual heritage is unearthed. As Victoria settles into her new life, Jo’s becomes increasingly complicated. As secrets are revealed, the dangers and problems grow, and when she is assigned a clandestine mission with a Demon-born, Jo’s life is turned upside down once again. This is a fast paced story with surprises at every turn. I loved the author refreshing take on demons and angles and especially how nothing is black and white with them. Jo is a character you easily become attached to, she is strong, snarky and capable, and the slow revealing of who she is and what abilities she has is great. Cauis is a complex hunk of a character that you can not help but fall for, who would have guessed that a demon could be so appealing! The duel narrators did an excellent job of giving the characters individual voices and making you feel all the emotions and tension in the story. I loved the one sentence commentary by Cauis at the end of the chapters and the deep sexy voice Zackary Johnson uses for him makes your toes curl and leaves you wanting more. This is a great story and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is one I’ll definitely listen to more than once!

The narrators did a great job, had no trouble following along.

The story starts off less natural than the rest of the book felt like for me. Not that I didn’t like it or that it was plain or forced or whatever but it was just a bit too much new situations all at once with a very closed of main character (who’s always the odd one out).
I do like the main character though. And the storyline. After each chapter told from Jo’s pov there is 1 sentence said by Caius that gives a bit more of an insight to the story.

I don’t really know what else I can say without giving some spoilers. Took me a while to get this review done because of that but truly, this one is one that is so intriguing you keep on listening. I love this world and the characters in it. And that ending... I need book 2 asap! Not that it ends with a cliffhanger (I hate those lol) but it’s just a renewed start in their quest so it’s a promise for more captivating things to come!

Paranormal romance

This felt like it was aimed at YA just by how the characters acted. However, I have to say it was not what I expected.
I liked how the author mixed angels, demons, and older gods it was definitely different. If you love paranormal romances then this is for you.

Fantastic Story! Amazing Narration!

This was my first A.D. Trosper's book, and won't be the last! This is the first book in the Raven Daughter Series, and a great introduction to this Series. Wow! I loved it! This is a fantastic story, beautifully written. Jo and Caius's slow burn story is captivating, with Demons, Immortal, Reapers, Angels and Humans. The other characters are really interesting. The storyline is complex, fast-paced, action packed, and suspenseful. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. The narration is different. Suzanne T. Fortin did an amazing job with the narration, and all characters were easy to distinguish. Surprisingly, Zachary Johnson (Caius) only reads one sentence at the end of each chapter. I hope we will hear him more in the next books in the Series. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

Beautiful and Captivating!

I love love the story! but i never knew how hearing their voices would make this story even more gripping and captivating! The narrators do a great job with emotions in their voices!!! I cant even begin to described how much loved it!!! This narrators are the best!!!! highly recommend this story!!! .I love this unique world with angels, reapers, and demonborns. Josephine aka joe and Caius will have you hooked! Jo’s friends are awesome and everyone needs a bestie like James! Its a slow-burn romance since Jo and Caius are natural born enemies.. but jokes on everyone. Once you get enemies together... well things happen! Huge-big-life-changing-events-happen!!! 😭😱❤️Get ready, is about to get real!! On to the next book!

A good listen

This was my first book from A.D. Trosper and I was pleasantly surprised. A new take on the mythos of the Morgane, heaven and hell. I have many questions yet not answered but I’m looking forward to seeing them unveiled in the next two books. Strong characters and a emotional roller coaster.

I Was Impressed!

Unveiled by A.D. Trosper pulled me in from the beginning. Typically I do not listen to many paranormal/fantasy/young adult books, but this one appealed to me with its Reapers, and Fallen Angels. The author did a fantastic job plotting the story, developing the characters, and creating vivid imagery. I enjoyed the attraction between Jo (Josephine) and Calius, and found the snarky banter added to the story. There are also unexpected twists, which I adore. Suzanne T Fortin performed this book incredibly well. She brought the characters to life with her distinguishable voices and narrates most of the book. Zachary Johnson gave a great perspective of Calius on his brief appearances. This book is a standalone listen, but not the complete story. It doesn't end in a cliffhanger per se. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrators. I am hooked on Raven Daughter, Book 1 and can't wait for the next one to come out.

A WELL-DONE STORY

I loved the narrator’s inflections and the story was one of which I haven’t read much of its genre. I was intrigued and wanted to hear a little more from Caius than the few sentences uttered at the end of each chapter. The story is a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to get to the next story. I also have found that I like reading along with the audio. It gives me a much better picture of the characters.

Unveiled

Jo and her sister have no idea who their parents really were until after her mothers death. Then they are thrown into a whole new world they did not know existed. The sisters have so much to learn. Of course this book focuses on Jo who turns out to be a reaper. Their whole world is turned upside down, as secrets of their parentage is exposed. The story really drew me in and is fast paced so it moved along nicely. Suzanne T. Fortin does a really nice job with the narration and drawing you into the book, she does most of the book narration. Zachary Johnson is Caius and at first I thought he was a bit creepy but he does an excellent job with his character!
