About this listen

I gave my heart to a Navy SEAL.

He took it with him to his grave.

Eleven years later, ignoring the yawning void is as automatic as breathing. Working brutal hours, dating a comfortably commitment-phobic guy, hanging with my best friends. Anything until exhaustion - or an extra glass of wine - claims my consciousness.

And then my comfort zone is invaded by Anderson Hawkins' piercing green eyes.

He says he’s a tattoo artist, but his mastery of the short answer, weird schedule, and military ink tell a different story.

His touch ignites a long-dead flame inside me.

But can I touch it without being completely scorched from the inside out?

I'm at the edge of a cliff. I just don't know if he'll catch me until I fall.

Note: This contemporary romance contains a former military hero accustomed to treading dangerous ground and a wary, overworked doctor who’s a military widow in every way but name, brought together by a few unexpected twists and turns - and maybe the machinations of a cute dog.

Wonderful Story & Listen🎧 Gripping & Emotional!

This is such a wonderful story, it not only grabbed and captivated my attention the entire time, but it tugged on my heartstrings too. I adored the lead characters, the secondary and support characters are amazing too. Aspen and Michael were engaged and would marry after he served his country and she would finish school. But died before they were married and it was something she never got over and could not move on. She finished med school and dedicated her life to saving others. She and her roommate befriended her neighbor and when she became ill, she wanted to help her get thru it, she had not met her son, Anderson aka Hawk, and when she does, she is not sure what to think or maybe he just makes her think, opens her heart that has been closed off too. Despite her dating someone she never gave him her heart, she felt it would betray the lover how her life, Michael. She never gave thought to the possibility of having two loves in a lifetime, but then again, she just focused on work and her friends. Her relationship with her Mom was not the best, and it was easier for her to not deal with that or to even take care of the estate of her late father, which she kept putting off. Hawk left the service, but joined another type of organization that deals with special operative types of missions. He came home to spend time with his sick Mom and wanted to be there for her as much as he could, but he still had some missions to complete. He was totally smitten with Aspen, though she was a tough cookie, one worth working for, which he did, and it was an uphill battle with her. Hawk was great, and the more I got to know him, the more I fell for him. The complexity of the characters and world building is fantastic, as are all the layers of the story. I loved how everything played out in this wonderfully written and cleverly plotted story, it has the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt and emotional moments, some action and thrilling suspense, and a fabulous romance. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Zachary Webber and Isabel Del Castillo were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, and they did so with the complete understanding of who these characters were, giving each a voice that fit them to a tee. Del Castillo’s Aspen was spot on, she grasped every side of her personality, from her vulnerable side to her strong side. Webber played Hawk as he was, an alpha bad arse who was not afraid to show his softer and caring side. Bother were great performing the roles as the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Sweet Second Chance

Castillo and Weber narration never disappoints and brings high definition for another masterpiece romance craft by Claudia Burgoa. Overcome lost and grieving, forgetting whom we are along the way, may not be the only option because life might have other plans. Forgiveness and new beginnings are part of the plan. I enjoyed all the characters. The sisterhood and brotherhood. The various beautiful shades of love! One of my favorite newest book!♥️🌈♥️

Until I Fall

𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙪𝙥 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙄 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡.

⏤ 3 Maple Leafs ⏤

An emotionally heavy read with lots of loss and grieving. I so badly wanted to enjoy this book more than I did. I did smile, laugh and even had tears in my eyes at points but there was a lot I struggled with.

The book seemed to move extremely slowly and seemed like it could have been cut down a lot. The connection between Anderson and Aspen seemed forced, Aspen had too much of a “woe is me” mantra, and some of the side characters were just too much. With everything happening in the story I felt the romance was an afterthought.

Zachary Webber was great as always. Isabel Del Castillo is a new to me narrator and I enjoyed listening to her narrate.

Until I Fall contains... military, neighbors-to-lovers, hurt/comfort, dual first-person point of view.

Emotional

This may be an older book by Ms. Burgoa, but it is new to me. Narrators Zachary Webber and Isabel Del Castillo brought Anderson and Aspen to life. After eleven years Aspen still refuses to open her heart because of the death of her fiance, Michael. She has a complicated relationship with her mom. At least her best friends have her back. Falling for the neighbour's son is scary for her.

Learning to live and love again

This is an amazingly heartwarming story about learning how to live and love again. Aspen lost her first love before they were able to get married as they had planned. She walled off her heart and threw herself into her work. She practically worked herself to death to avoid the pain of his loss. Until she meets Anderson. Meeting him, as well as a push from her friends encourages Aspen to live again.

The narrators that brought these characters to life did such an amazing job. The way they were able to evoke the emotion of the scenes made this story even better.

Male narrator was excellent

Oh, how I wish I could give this audiobook book more stars. Oh, how I wish Zachary Webber was the only narrator. (He did an amazing job, as always.) Oh, how I wish this book had tighter editing. It wasn’t a bad story. I just had many wishes.

Emotional

What an emotional roller coaster of a listen Until I Fall was. I was moved to tears on a number of occasions, the sign of a well written, emotional story and something I have come to expect from Claudia Burgoa.

Aspen was left devastated when her Navy Seal partner was killed. However the caring doctor threw herself into her job, refusing to open her heart again to the possibility of love. Anderson Hawkins is the tattoo artist with a secret life who is her neighbour and one she has noticed despite herself. He retired from Delta Force but is still involved in clandestine operations as needed.

There are moments were the story moved from the present to the past but not enough to be a distraction. The friendships between Aspen and her girlfriends was at times frustrating and heart warming. I admit I fell hard and fast for Hugo the dog, he was an entertaining bonus’ he brought some happiness and humour.

The losses that the characters went through were palpable and the narrators Zachary Webber and Isabel Del Castillo expressed the emotions well with their performances. They brought the characters and this emotional story to life for me.

Heart-pounding and Steamy Romance!

This story swallowed me whole and wouldn't let go even days after I finished listening to it. I was enthralled with Aspen and Andersen's tale from the very beginning. Aspen is smart, brave and caring, but she has never gotten over the heartbreak of losing her fiancé eleven years ago. She keeps busy trying to help others in the ER and at the free clinic. She isn't ready to open her heart and take the chance of losing it again. She has been through so much hardship in her life and is determined to keep herself safe and away from change. Anderson is the mysterious, sexy, tattoo artist whose mother lives next door to Aspen. Aspen and her friends have grown close to their aging neighbor. They are happy to look after her when Anderson leaves for work, sometimes weeks at a time. But when he is home, he is determined to break down Aspen's walls and make her let go of all her fears. They are the perfect match for each other because they are both fighters. Anderson has also faced so much in his life and Aspen has become a source of strength for him and has shown him another path to love. Aspen is surprised at how safe she feels with Anderson. But is it worth the pain and heartache when secrets are revealed and danger is at your front door? Ms. Burgoa is brilliant at creating intriguing and poignant tales with multifaceted characters that make you experience every emotion. This story is fast paced with twists and turns that are suspenseful, raw, and emotional. But through it all, there is a connection between Anderson and Aspen that is pure and healing. We were also introduced to several compelling friends in this story and I hope to hear more about them soon.
Zachary Webber, and Isabel Del Castillo did an amazing job bringing this world to life. The chemistry between them was so magnetic, and impassioned that I was helpless to stop listening. I always enjoy Zachary Webber, but this is my first listen to Isabel Del Castillo and I was completely captivated by her performance. They made me feel all the intense emotions of this story and also the fun parts too, which is the exact reason why I love to listen to audiobooks.

a great audiobook

My heart broke for Aspen at the beginning. She loved her fiance so much, and after he died she became immersed in her work and keeping relationships casual. It's surprising , then, when she meets Anderson and forms a real connection with him.

I thought the author did a great job with the individual character development in addition to the relationship that forms between them. I liked seeing Aspen and Anderson open up to one another and I couldn't wait to see how they got their HEA.

Until I Fall is an emotional, engaging audiobook with fantastic narration. I am glad I read it in audio!

Deep and emotional.

I can’t believe it took me this long to get to Hawk’s story. I loved how Zachary Webber and Isabel Del Castillo narrated. Anderson and Aspen’s story is absolutely phenomenal. I felt so many emotions from the authors words as well as the performance of Zac and Isabel. There is just so much more to Hawk than the glimpses we get of him in other books. He is so freaking sweet. This is a must read/listen to.
