Great book

I loved the book. I love how both narrators read. But Nicole Small always narrator amazingly.

Fantastic Listen

Never have I heard two narrators read characters alternate speaking parts. Nicole Smalls and Jakobi Diem really brought Unfortunately Francine to reality. It was exciting reading the book, but more equally awesome hearing it in audio. Job well done!

Not even done but...I kinda cheated and read reviews before I FINALLY decided to go get this joint!! The Black series is a 4EVA FAVE..anywho...1/3 way through..I'm like. it's a BOOK..BECAUSE I DON'T SEE HOW THIS COULD REALLY WORK..THAT being said..I'm soooooo lovin' how the things playing out..also the reference when speaking of the other as "my husband or my wife" was weird..#somesickshit #TroyisBAE #hewrongthough #Illbeback

IT WAS A’IGHT

First of all, as per usual, Jakobi and Nicole killed the narration. I loved the way it was performed. Secondly, the plot was very unrealistic. Talk about Stockholm Syndrome! All those threats Troy gave Francine and never did nothing. He barely punished her with his D! The first chance I got I would have been gone. Thirdly, the book was entirely too long for it to end the way it did. This was two books in one. So I’m guessing there will be a second book. I’d listen IF Nicole and Jakobi narrate and that’s a big IF.

Literary genius!!

The words capture you! Excellent writing and story line! Joan brings reality to the pages and opens us to what so many people of color face each and every day.

A Surprising Find

I was excited to find a different book by this author! I hope there will be additional books added to this series too. Well Done!

On the Edge of My Seat

Unfortunately Francine was a gritty, twisted story. I was shocked and captivated from the prologue to the very last sentence of this book. The suspense and angst and drama kept me on edge. Although I know I shouldn't have been rooting for Troy, I couldn't help myself. Much like Francine, I fell hard for him. The tension and sex scenes were hot. While the emotional push and pull between Francine and Troy really added to the rawness of their love. This story had action, emotion, family, loyalty, and intrigue. I want more of these characters. I hope Ms. Vassar plans to continue this series. I am all in!

Jakobi Diem and Nicole Small did a great job narrating this book. They tackled the emotions and pacing of the story well. I loved that it was performed in duet style narration.

Speechless

This book is a masterpiece. I knew it was going to completely take over my life we I started listening and it did. Troy…. That is a man that can frustrate you to no end but make you love him. I understand Frankie’s dilemma when it came to her feeling for him. It is a must listen to.

Unfortunately need more

OMG I have a new author to love!!! I need a man like Troy, or Levi or Akil or even Butch. Where is my Black, Elbert, Thomas or Anthony. Excellent reading excellent story.
