About this listen

Understanding Roswell is the first book that dives deeply into the backgrounds of the witnesses, examines the evidence with a dispassionate eye, and tells the story in a comprehensive fashion. While it seems that everyone agrees that something fell to the northwest of Roswell, New Mexico in July, 1947, it is the interpretation of that fall that was open for debate. Looking at the evidence provided by the United States Air Force, along with the information uncovered by civilian UFO researchers, all the terrestrial explanations have failed. Written by one of the leading experts on the case, Understanding Roswell eliminates many of the side issues that are clouding the case and narrows its focus to that information that is helpful in understanding the overall picture. For those looking for the truth about the Roswell UFO crash/retrieval, this is the book to bring it into perspective.

You can't go wrong with this one!

Very detailed, facts at hand, exactly what we can expect from Kevin.

Kevin knows the story, witnesses, timeline better than 99.9% of the researches, he went there, he digged in, he walked the walk...

You can feel this when reading (or listening) the book

Just couldn’t handle the narrator

Returned the title and will get the Kindle… That narrator was unbearable to listen too.

1947!

Loved this book! It may be one of the most detailed and interesting accounts of Roswell that I've ever heard or read! I will definitely have to read it again!

Poorly written, and even more poorly read.

I bought the kindle version, too, because the reader kept mispronouncing words and names. There are typos & misspellings. It as though this is a first draft of what could be an excellent resource.

Narrator choice matters.

The narrator sounded like bad AI. In addition to that there was mispronunciation of names that got annoying real quick. She even mispronounced Reuters. General Ramey’s name was pronounced rammy. Hearing that name at least 100 times wrong is like nails on a chalkboard.

Other than that I loved the book.

A lot of great facts and explanation but drawn out

Loved this because of the details and weighing every account and testimony as well as excuse. But found myself having to rewind a bunch, otherwise amazing wok!

My first bad review

Okay. I don't remember ever writing a review for a book and I read/listen to a lot of them. I certainly don't remember ever writing a bad review of an audio book. I thought the content of the book was very interesting. I'll bet the written version is informative and enjoyable. I've read a lot of books on this topic and learned some interesting things I hadn't heard before from this book, so from that standpoint, I guess it was a kind of a win for me. The narration - well, that's another story. I don't believe I've ever heard so many words mispronounced in one collection as I did in this book. That was so distracting for me that I was forced to stop listening to it in the middle of the book. I was excited about the book initially, but was very disappointed with it when I tried to actually listen to it. The narration started off badly, and honestly, I thought I could tough it out and finish the book. I was wrong. I kept saying to myself, "I'll ignore all that up to now, but if she mispronounces one more word, I'm out of here." And then I'd try to listen a little longer. I just couldn't take it any more and gave up. So unfortunate and disappointing.
