About this listen

Since the loss of her father, Abigail Thatch's life has been in turmoil. Her social status is in shambles, her finances depleted, and she's on the verge of losing her beloved home. But everything changes when she meets the dashing flying-machine captain Jasper Blackthorn. Not only does he introduce her to a world she thought only existed in myth and legend, he awakens sensual feelings deep within her....

Jasper may be immortal, but he hasn't truly lived in years. Having secretly watched over Abigail as a favor to her notorious grandfather, he can't resist arranging a "chance" meeting with the beauty. But he has an ulterior motive: to retrieve the mystical Crystal Compass hidden in her house before it falls into the wrong hands. He never imagines he'll be tempted to love again....

When Abigail learns the truth, she and Jasper embark on a journey that will change both of their lives - and possibly the world.

A Fun Steam Punk Read!

Lots of pirate, super natural, Victorian era, steam punk goodness. In the middle it did lose me a bit with the overwhelming amount of historical information provided about Blackbeard and other pirate lore as well as how clinical some of the sex scenes were described, but in the end I enjoyed this story.

This specific video review will be included in the October 2018 wrap-up.

Different...

I did not love this book. The Narrator did a really good job. The Story had to much going on. Their is a lot of fantasy and some steam punk. I found myself zoning out on this story. This feels like a book that was just made to sell something. It was missing something to me. The Main Characters seemed a little whinny. I think the plot needed more time to develop. The story was rushed. The Concept has potential.

Their were some streamy scenes. Their is Fantasy and some steam punk. The story is a time killer (for me). If you want a story that doesn't engage your mind. This is the book for you.

Hope this Helps:)

A most enjoyable fantastical Victorian romance

It's Victorian England when Jasper, an handsome immortal flying machine ex pirate finally can't resist a chance meeting with Abigail who he has been watching over as a favour since her birth. He is hopelessly in love with her but she just doesn't believe or trust him however they set off on a fantastical journey to find her treasure.

This book started off really good but her constant mistrust of him, even after they became lovers, was really really annoying whereas Jasper was patient, protective and so vulnerable when it came to Abigail. There were times when I thought just cut yourself so she can watch you heal and come on no food or drink during the journey - but hey it's got a flying boat, talking cat, Blackbeard and immortals in it!!

However, I thought it was a enjoyable fun listen, it had romance, plenty of love scenes, steampunk elements and an imaginative plot.

In my opinion, well worth my credit.
