About this listen

Armed with stolen US military technology, the Chinese are producing a frightening new breed of weaponry, led by the ICBM submarine Xia III - a vessel that just might be able to launch a nuclear warhead across the Pacific Ocean and take out an American West Coast city.

National security adviser Admiral Arnold Morgan can't let that happen, and he dispatches the most stealthy hunter-killer submarine in the US fleet, the 9,000-ton ultrasecret Seawolf, deep into the dark, forbidden waters of the South China Sea. But then the unthinkable happens: Seawolf collides with a Chinese destroyer and falls into enemy hands. A team of cunning Navy SEALs - the biggest Special Forces assault group assembled since Vietnam - is sent in to free the captive Seawolf crew and bring them home.

The American eagle confronts the Chinese dragon with the balance of world power on the line. Failure is not an option....

Excellent, Powerful Storytelling

George Guidall brought me here. There simply is no better narrator than George.

Once I got here, I loved the story too. This is a tale of honor, bravery, excellence and the rotting creep of cowardice, selfishness and pride that destroys the best efforts of good men.

I highly recommend it for any father who wants to know how not to pamper your child at the expense of others.

AMAZING !!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A well-balanced book. Plot well thought of. Fire filled personalities that GUidall brings to life.... and a great story line. This was the best of his work so far that I have enjoyed. I happened to pick it up since I listen to as many as Guidall's narration as I can. I truly enjoyed this. Intense - fast moving and FUNNY !!!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Oh yes.. very dynamic voice modulations and voice rendition. AMAZING...

Which scene was your favorite?

This is hard. I liked ALL of it...

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Power Within...

Any additional comments?

For anyone who is interested in Submarines... Great naval loud mouthed funny offices and more you should purchase all of his work read by Guidall. It keeps getting better. There was only ONE book.. I really did not take to but the narration was superb and the story was fast moving.. ENJOY

PDG

Pretty Damn Good, got this listen for the entertainment and it did it's job. The good guys vs the bad guys. The performance is first rate by Guidall as per usual, does a great job playing up the surly Arnold Morgan. Though its thoroughly predictable in its politics and the stereotypes are on full display, it was a fun book abd recommend for anyone looking for a modern military adventure.

Technical

The book was very well written. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars in one category was for some of the technical aspects of the military references. The book did a great job of honoring the men in uniform and what they endure to maintain our freedom in spite of constant political pressure, and being hung out to dry for their selflessness at times. Unfortunate, but great ending to the story.
