About this listen

From the New York Times and USA Today best-selling duo behind The Unhoneymooners and the “delectable, moving” (Entertainment Weekly) My Favorite Half-Night Stand comes a poignant romance that follows two people who fall in love during a life-changing overseas vacation - only for the truth to change everything once they return home.

As an adventurous send-off to her childhood, 18-year-old Tate Jones travels with her grandmother from their small town in Northern California to London. But the vacation of a lifetime is wonderfully derailed by the appearance of two charming Vermont farmers: grandfather Luther and his handsome grandson, Sam.

Sam and Tate fall hard and fast. For two glorious weeks, the couple share their hopes, dreams, and secrets. Sam admits he suspects his grandfather is dying and that this could be the last trip they take together, and Tate reveals that she is the hidden daughter of one of the biggest film stars in the world - a secret she’s never told anyone before.

But when Tate is exposed by a crush of cameras and reporters, she knows she's been betrayed by the one person she thought she could trust. She is forced to decide whether she will return to her quiet life or embrace being in the public eye. So when Sam reappears in her world more than a decade later, can Tate forgive the past and rekindle the passion they shared on their magical trip abroad? And does she even want to?

With Christina Lauren’s signature “beautifully written and remarkably compelling” (Sarah J. Maas, New York Times best-selling author) prose, Twice in a Blue Moon is an unforgettable and moving novel of young love and second chances.

Good...

The story was good, not my favorite Christina Lauren though. I did not enjoy the voice the narrator used for the male characters. I really had trouble getting past it in order to finish listening to the book.

Fun story, narrator not so much.

I read all the reviews before purchasing this book, so I knew what I was getting myself into

This story has all the great pieces I’ve come to love from Christina Lauren books, and the actual content didn’t disappoint me. Even if it is predictable, I think that’s part of what I enjoy. But the narrator is really hard to look past on this one. People aren’t kidding when they say she draws out the last syllable of every sentence. It can be very, very annoying. By the end, I’d gotten used to it, but I can see how it would be hard for some people to move past it.

Ick! She went back to him

The story was just okay. I, actually, didn't mind the narrator and thought she did a good job. I don't know where the total almost five-star reviews come from as the first two pages of them are mostly negative.

Always love their narrators!

A super sweet story, and even though I don’t usually love “celebrity” books, this one was amazing. I was craving better smut, but I love their love story.

Predictable but good

I liked the story, but became annoyed by the drawing out of certain words done by the narrator.

It just ended?

Did the author run out of time? It ended so abruptly.
Is this the same person wrote ‘Love and other words’?

Narration

Ugh, painful to listen to! Story was good but the narration took away from the story line.

basic story made worse by bad narrator

this book was nothing too crazy, not AMAZING but not terrible either. However, the narrator’s voice was genuinely insufferable and really made the whole experience far less pleasant than it had to be.

Didn't enjoy narration

I tried to finish, but the narrator had (to my ear) a really annoying habit of weirdly stretching out the last syllables/sounds of some words. I returned the audiobook and will get the ebook. Others may not even notice it, but I couldn't get past it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, riveting story, awesome narration

It is rare that I like a single narrated book over a duet narrated book, but Erin Mallon's rendition of Christina Lauren books are the exception. Her male voice is excellent (I'd date him!) and distinct enough from her female voice that the story has fullness. I also loved this story though it does have a lot of similarities with Love and Other Words, I didn't mind because I loved that book as well. I judge a book by how many hikes and steps I do while listening and this one was off the charts, I was walking an hour extra a day to get in more 'book time' (I don't listen unless I exercise, makes it last longer and motivate me!).
