Mit "Tschick" hat Autor Wolfgang Herrndorf das Genre Roadmovie um einen weiteren Klassiker bereichert.
Maik und Tschick, zwei Außenseiter in der Pubertät, begeben sich in einem alten geklauten Lada auf eine Art Urlaubsreise in die Walachei. Ohne Straßenkarte und auch ansonsten ohne echten Plan kommen sie natürlich nie dort an. Stattdessen treffen sie auf andere merkwürdige, aber durchaus sympathisch-verrückte Menschen und bauen einen kräftigen Unfall. Am Ende landen sie, körperlich lädiert, im Gerichtssaal.
Das Ganze ereignet sich mit Tempo, Witz und einer Wahrhaftigkeit, sodass die Erlebnisse der beiden Jungs auch bei Erwachsenen nachhaltigen Eindruck hinterlassen. Nicht umsonst hat "Tschick" längst Kultstatus erreicht. Von Herrndorfs schnörkellosem Erzählstil profitieren vor allem Hörbuch-Fans. Zudem spricht Marius Clarén das ungekürzte Hörbuch so knackig, dass sogar bei den Kennern der Romanvorlage noch einmal große Freude aufkommt.
