Story
The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

Not an Audiobook
Not a real audiobook, but rather the audio track from the movie "True Romance" directed by Tony Scott. There is no additional narration to put anything in context for the listener. It's best to see the movie first so you know what's going on. What's positive about this book? The screenplay by Quentin Tarantino is fantastic, and it should be. Again it's a Tarantino script! The performances by Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken and James Gandolfini are incredible, and they should be, these are movie actors and this is the audio track to a movie. It's gonna be good! The sound effects and music are also amazing, but again they should be, it's a movie! Basically go in understanding that you're listening to a movie without the visuals and you'll be fine. Just make sure you've seen the movie first!
