About this listen

Strange things are happening in Prosper Woods, California. Ever since moving here a few months ago, my life has turned upside down. Some things have been amazing, like falling head over heels for Vincent Lasco, a gorgeous 700-year-old vampire. Other things have been weirder than I could ever imagine.

I’ve learned a fundamental truth about myself. Needless to say, it came as a massive shock. Of course, most of the town residents have quirks of their own. Let’s just say, nothing is boring about this bizarre place.

Supernaturals flourish here!

Falling for Sheriff Romeo Harmon wasn’t something I expected when I relocated to a quiet town in the sequoias. He makes me happier than I’ve ever been. He’s kind and funny and honest to the core, just the kind of man I used to be, centuries ago.

I have a new lease on my very long life. Things could go on just the way they are, but there’s something I’ve been asked to do before that happens. I need to help Romeo find a sweet little boy and finally lay him to rest.

Who knew ghosts could have broken hearts?

Vincent and Sheriff Romeo are my chance to find peace, at last. I’ve been waiting for someone to notice I’m gone for a long time. Until the vampire showed up, I wasn’t sure anyone could help. All I want to do is move on to the next step...and I really need to rest.

Vincent and Romeo, you’re my only hope.

OMG!

The series keeps getting better and better! The new characters in this book made my jaw drop. The established characters either make you love or hate them depending on which side they are on 😉

John Solo delivers another INCREDIBLE performance!

More of those funny as heck letters to the editor, more incredible narration from the amazing John Solo, and much more excitement for the heroes Vincent Lasco the vampire and Sheriff Romeo Harmon the unicorn shifter. Picking right up from True Mate Prosper Woods Chronicles Book 1, Patricia Logan wastes NO time getting the story going. The guys are wanting to lay to rest the spirit of a misused little boy who remains needs to be located. They will need a sharper nose than either possess so they'll need help from a very gifted wolf-shifter. They approach the new alpha and beta of the Frederick pack, Greg and Sam. Lucky for them, Sam knows of one, much to Greg's chagrin.
Initially disgusted with how easily Greg was willing to accept Daisy Mae's advances, Sam decides to run with another unknown-to-Greg wolf named Caster Howard. Worried that he has messed up yet again, Greg searches for Sam and finds him on a lengthy run with another, unknown-to-Greg wolf. Not intending to eavesdrop, Greg overhears Sam's admission of the futility of his affection towards his alpha to Caster. It gives Greg something to think about including the jealousy he's feeling about Sam's friendship with Caster, who made his romantic interest in Sam all too clear.
Later in the story, Caster Howard and his sister Violet (wolf shifters whose ancestors are from Persia) report the theft of a small bronze statue capable of preventing other wolves from shifting to werewolf form. When carried by a werewolf in shifted form the same statue would mask its scent allowing the werewolf to sneak up on a shifter or another wolf. Those of us familiar with the series are certain whose responsible for the theft and how they can benefit from such an artifact. Readers can bet money that Floyd and his crew are responsible in some way.
With the help of werewolves Greg, Sam, Caster, and Violet, vampire Vincent and unicorn shifter Romeo go to do a glad deed for a sad ghost that unknown to them is located just outside of the area covered by the pact. Floyd and his gang of wolves banding together with vampires Sergio, Justine, and Harvey attack our heroes but they are the ones who get their butts handled to them thanks to Sid, the grouchy old witch, and the Mendez clan of young bunny shifters led by the several of the slightly older teenagers! It seems that Jessie, the new bartender Greg hired for the bar was a spy for Floyd and reported everything that had been planned. I admit to feeling some great satisfaction that he dies in the battle. However, the vampires and Floyd are still alive and capable of causing more mayhem for our Prosper Woods heroes. The book ends with a shocking revelation that is bound to both stun and delight all readers!
The author does not require the reader to search through the previous novels in order to review the players in the current work. Sufficient information is presented in each novel for the audience to get quickly up to speed in the narrative. There are no long, drawn-out angsty elements, though Greg can be exasperating in a way that is genuinely in line with his mentality. There are plenty of laughs in the writer's book in addition to some tense moments as there is some bloodshed and death. But the hallmark of a Patricia Logan novel is there as always--the absolute love and pure devotion that exists between the main characters. I LOVE this about her work as she is generous in showing her writers those tender, sweet as honey moments between her men! There is adequate growth and development in the players both within the books and amongst the sequels of the series. This is especially the case with several of the secondary characters. This is an incredible tale. I can't wait for the next book!

It is Awesome

Narrator John Solo’s performance of True Blue, book 2 of the Prosper Woods Chronicles was outstanding! Supernatural beings are crawling out of the woodworks, and for each new character, he magically pulled out a unique voice. This narrator’s hat of tricks is bottomless and his talent for conveying comedy really infused the story with silliness and fun.

The author astounded me with her creative shenanigans. I loved the snails and seagulls references, and I loved the Prosper Woods Chronicles, Letters to the Editor. After each chapter, we hear a new letter. Like a little pick-me-up before the chapters. Each time I am excited to hear what comes next, but simultaneously sad because the end is creeping closer. The ridiculousness of it all floored me. It is totally original and all the shit anyone ever wondered about supernatural is in there.

I swear, it’s like the author decided to show us what she is really capable of. Gone are the days of A meets B and shags until C! It’s like, you wanted supernaturals, I will give you supernaturals until you choke on them from laughter.

The only thing I don’t like is the ending, it felt clipped short because it all came to end right after a battle scene. So now all the characters are still standing there and waiting for us to return.

Otherwise, it is a treat like no other. I do recommend this series.

Happy Listening

It’s worth it

Love this series hope Patricia is busy writing more episodes. I remain speechless about Patricia Logan’s talent in building an entire world that is plausible and engaging; I also just love the letters to the editor such a clever yet quirky additions to the story although not really part of the story ( you’ll have to listen to understand what I mean) I actually started to look forward to them as much as to the main story, anyway this series is definitely worth the credits take a chance you will be definitely be entertained. Narrator John Solo as usual was on top of his game.

fascinating story

True Blue is Book 2 in the Prosper Woods Chronicles series and should be enjoyed in order. This really is a fascinating series. Vampires, werewolves, mediums, witches, and a variety of shifters. In this book we learn more about Blue as Vincent and Rom figure out what happened to him. There is another mysterious death, and more interesting letters to the editor. It was great to see Greg figure through some of his feelings about his best friend Sam. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next in this series. Definitely recommend.
Narrator John Solo does another fabulous job in this series, though he did mispronounce quesadilla and I'm not sure if that was intentional or not.

Prosper Woods Book 2

True Blue is the second book in the Prosper Woods series and follows Romeo and Vincent along with introducing us to more secondary characters. The story has a great collection of supernatural creatures, some twists and turns, and great steamy scenes. Overall an excellent continuation to the series and a great listen. Looking forward to the final book.

So much fun

What did I think of the cover? I love it
( did it inspire me to look at blurb?)yes
Did the blurb entice me into reading the book? Oh yes I was ready to dive in
What made me choose this book? I love this author but paranormal? Oh yes just as good as her other books.
Are there trigger warnings? Could be mentions of child abuse, pedaphiles, ( this is off page and just mention) violence
Is this part of a series?yes this is book 2
If so does it need read in order? I would suggest so but you may could understand without but it is recurring characters the main story is resolved, relationships grow, and it’s a sort of cliff hanger leading to next book.
Who’s my favorite character? That’s a hard question. There is so many characters all are good. I love both main characters and the two new wolfs are interesting but I think my favorite is Sid the witch. He’s always popping up kinda witty and sorta saving the day.
What did I like best? Everything but I think the part with Greg and Sam ( you will have to read to see what I’m talking about but poor Greg is just clueless.
Was there something I didn’t like? No
What would have made that better? I can’t think of anything
What made the book interesting? I love the chronicle tidbits that open each chapter. They are hilarious!
Was there an HEA? More HFN as I believe this is an ongoing story and the relationship grows.
How hot was the book? 4 purrs
The narration really makes this book and series. The voices are clear for each character, good pacing, inflection just all over picks up the story a level. I recommend if you do audio to get this series.
Who do I recommend this to?
If you love vampires, werewolves, ghosts, shifters of all kinds ( even hummingbirds)unicorns, a touch of humor, a good suspense and a hot romance with an established couple this is for you oh and twists!
