An Exciting Roller Coaster Ride

I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster ride while listening to the audiobook for book 7. Wow! I admired Caitlyn's determination to find Renegade regardless of how much the search took out of herself. I grieved with Colt's and Caitlyn's loss. I worried about what was happening with Renegade. I was flabbergasted that the story ended on a cliffhanger, and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I was entertained by Joyce Oben's narration, and her performance kept my attention. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Tenacious and Bonded

I loved the way that there was no way Caitlyn was going home without her dog. Two great characters, Caitlyn and Cole, both strong characters with a 'take no prisoners' approach to the business at hand.

Having Cairlyn's family in the story brought some relief from the intenseness of the story. Jodie Burnett has pulled no punches with this story, it will have your stomach in knots, and you will be fluctuating between anger at the underhandness from certain characters and then on a high when odds are won.

Could not stop listening!!

You think you know where it's going and then it takes a totally different direction! I love that!

Caitlyn & Colt in a teamwork situation.

I’ve read or listened to the seven books of the Tin Star series and enjoyed each of the books. Trials was filled with more dramatic content than the normal action type content of its predecessors. The redeeming feature for me in this story was the introduction of Storm and the relationship of Storm and Jace.

This is not to say there isn’t any action in the story, because there are several instances of action that play an important part in the overall story. For me I would have loved more action and a bit less interpersonal drama.

Overall, Trials is an enjoyable story, and with Joyce Oben’s excellent narration and her character voices it is very entertaining.

Another one I couldn't put down!

I love this story and the whole series! This one hits all of the feels of both a thrilling chase to find Renegade and the emotional side of family matters that get flushed out in this book. If you love the others in the series, you will love this one too. You can read it as a standalone, but I recommend you read the series start to finish. The character developments grow from book one forward and it's fun to watch their journey unfold.

The ending was completely unfair

I understand setting up for the next book but that heart wrenching story. It was just MEAN to end at that moment

A thrilling and emotional read. Caitlyn and Colt's journey to rescue Renegade is filled with suspense, love, and resilience. The characters are well-developed, and their struggles feel genuine. Burnett's writing keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the portrayal of grief and healing adds depth to the story. The bond between Caitlyn and Colt is beautifully depicted, making this book a standout in the series. Highly recommended for fans of thrilling adventures with strong emotional content. The narration was spot on adding nuance, emotion and depth to the story.

Plenty of strife

This is the seventh in the series and I the first in this series I have read. I was offered an opportunity to listen to the audio book and took it based on a previous series I listened to. I found it Caitlyn’s desire to find Renegade intense.

There were plenty of twist, turns, and flips to keep the reader wondering what was happening. I had empathy for both Caitlyn, Colt, and the police department.

I recommend this book, it is a standalone and I was not lost in the story.

Outstanding 5 star read!

Trials (Tin Star K9 Series Book 7), my fifteenth read from author Jodi Burnett, who is one of my favorite authors. This 5-hour 58-minute/274-page reasd/listen continues the trend of well-written, enjoyable books, it caught my attention in the opening pages & I never put it down until completed. As Burnett expands her writings over 4 primary characters it has improved all four. She's created a complete world in which her primary characters interact with an ever-expanding world of repeat characters, some very familiar from her other series. A Jodi Burnett book is like a visit from an old friend. "I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more in this series & more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A double loss

With the admittance to a hospital Kaitlyn refuses to give up the search for Renegade.
As the search for Renegade continues so does Kaitlyn’s confusion. Having suffered a concussion in vehicle accident, there are many things she doesn’t remember. Like being pregnant with Cole’s baby.
As Cole and Kaitlyn attempt to piece together her memories to try to find Renegade, Kaitlyn soon remembers her fairy recent past and becomes even more anxious to leave hospital.
The vehicle accident appears to have been a diversion. But for what?
As they attempt to put pieces together Kaitlyn refuses to stay in hospital. Against hospital policy and suggestions she discharges from hospital to join the efforts to retrieve her partner.
Will Kaitlyn be able to overcome 2 losses if she doesn’t get Renegade back?
