About this listen

A Being(s) in Love story:

In the 19th century, the dragon Dìzhèn put the small coastal town of Everlasting under her protection. Her family was supposed to carry on the tradition, but all of Dìzhèn the Great’s heirs eventually left rather than live in the shadow of such a powerful dragon.

Only the youngest dragon of the current generation remains: Zarrin, the softhearted disgrace of his family. He might be weak, small, and afraid, but he is determined to show the humans they have not been forgotten...one human in particular. The problem is, Zarrin can barely get that human to talk to him.

It should be a dream come true to have a dragon trying to get his attention. But Joe refuses to bow to Zarrin like everyone else. Yes, Zarrin is sexy, oddly gentle, for a dragon and stares at Joe with a gaze so hot it makes him shiver. But hurt, mistrustful Joe can’t believe Zarrin’s promises that he’s here to stay. Joe doesn’t realize he is the treasure Zarrin has been looking for his whole life, a treasure he once let slip through his fingers out of fear. Now, to win Joe’s trust, Zarrin has to be brave and become as strong as Dìzhèn herself.

Sometimes Joe's voice was distinct but half the time Joe and Zarrin sounded the same. Joe's mother also sounded the same. He mispronounced simple words like "inhuman." He emphasized the wrong words in sentence changing the meaning. He made sentences without question marks into questions and questions into statements. And he made numerous other errors.

LOVELY STORY. POOR NARRATION

This is one of my favorite book series, so it’s disappointing to listen to an audio version with a narrator so boring. He reads the book like it’s a textbook, and there’s an underlying background noise that sounds like a laptop fan. I’d rather just read it in the traditional format than try to stay awake listening to this narrator.

Great book, boring narrator

Treasure for Treasure has everything. Dragons with funny hats, surly sexy baristas, small town gossip, cheerfully intrusive werewolves, important graffiti, background elves, and emotional bravery.

R. Cooper will drag you through some serious emotion but she will deliver you safely back feeling much better and well therapied. True love with actual thought and depth. For all of us who don't trust easy but wish we could.

Sweet yet solid
