About this listen

From an MIT scientist, mounting evidence that the active ingredient in the world’s most commonly used weedkiller is responsible for debilitating chronic diseases, including cancer, liver disease, and more

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup, the most commonly used weedkiller in the world. Nearly 300 million pounds of glyphosate-based herbicide are sprayed on farms - and food - every year.

Agrochemical companies claim that glyphosate is safe for humans, animals, and the environment. But emerging scientific research on glyphosate’s deadly disruption of the gut microbiome, its crippling effect on protein synthesis, and its impact on the body’s ability to use and transport sulfur - not to mention several landmark legal cases - tells a very different story.

In Toxic Legacy, senior research scientist Stephanie Seneff, PhD, delivers compelling evidence based on countless published, peer-reviewed studies - all in frank, illuminating, and always accessible language.

Throughout Toxic Legacy, listeners will discover:

  • The uniquely toxic nature of glyphosate
  • How glyphosate disrupts the microbiome, leading to gut dysbiosis, autoimmunity, neurodegeneration, and more
  • Why we’re seeing a rise in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, infertility, depression, and anxiety
  • Glyphosate’s role in soil degeneration, water contamination, and threats to wildlife and biodiversity
  • Important nutritional guidance for conscientious consumers who want to avoid glyphosate-contaminated foods and improve their health

As Rachel Carson did with DDT in the 1960s, Stephanie Seneff sounds the alarm on glyphosate, giving you guidance on simple, powerful changes you can make right now and essential information you need to protect your health, your family’s health, and the planet on which we all depend.

Life changing

This book takes the complex science and makes it easy to understand. It is a needed telling of what is happening behind the scenes and behind the science, telling what is happening and been happening over the decades between our health and big industry.

Path to deep understanding on Round Up.

Most everyone knows that Round Up is not good for us, but why? Dr Seneff provide a thorough explanation — with consist reference to peer reviewed scientific studies. The author describes the history behind Round Up — from patented antibiotic to patented industrial use to pervasive patented use in agriculture. I found her explanation of the body’s immune system and Round Up’s impact upon it particular enlightening. I would recommend this book to scientifically minded people who want to better understand the ‘why’ behind the existence of so many chronic conditions today. The author builds a convincing case for concern — and will motivate you to spend the extra needed to avoid consuming cheap food laced with Round Up or living/working with this toxic chemical. Jill Smith did a wonderful job narrating through explanations interwoven with technical terms. My five star rating reflects that I wanted to return to listening to this book every moment that I could.

Better living not through chemistry

My mother was a constant gardener and Roundup was always an effective option for combatting Oklahoma weeds. She passed away at 43 y/o from DLBCL. Glyphosate use is a nasty compromise.

Ban this crap

Well researched and persuasive evidence that Glyphosate should be banned and needs to be out of our food, water, and air. The USA is way behind the rest of the world. $$$ again over health and real science.

Required Reading

This book is dense in biochemistry and impact. Dr Seneff is the leading expert on glyphosate toxicity and this book acts as a braindump on the topic. I’ve ordered the hard copy as well as the info is so dense I want to use the book as a reference. My only critique is the person reading mispronounced a handful of words. Otherwise this book is 💯

One of the most life-changing books I've ever read

I'm a voracious reader and this is one of the most life-changing books I've ever read. Stephanie Seneff, an accomplished MIT scientist, caught my attention because she accurately predicted the adverse effects from the C-19 vaccine in a published paper very early in 2021, before we even had any data on adverse effects. Seneff says that before those vaccines, that glyphosate was the most dangerous product in the world. She proves it in the book with data, logic, chemistry and in depth biology.

The US uses glyphosate (Round Up) more than just about any country in the world, and she believes that the gradually increased use of glyphosate coincides with the rise in obesity and other chronic disease. Seneff is very persuasive in her presentation of the data and her conclusions. She's careful not to claim knowledge that she doesn't have. Some of the biology will be over a layman's head but I still found it useful in trying to understand how this substance does so much damage to our body and environment.

As a result of this book, I've changed my diet, my shopping habits (I try to buy from small organic farms), my deodorant (aluminum-free deodorant because aluminum helps glyphosate to do damage), and my whole view of our food system in the United States. There are not many books that actually lead me to change my lifestyle but this is one of them! I can't recommend this book enough!

Required reading for our generation

People need to understand the full ramifications of this toxic chemical that has pervaded everything. She is the Rachel Carson of our generation. Glyphosate is undeniably a harmful toxin and if you buy things that have it aka Doritos, Cheerios, etc, you are supporting the money machine that is polluting our ecosystem with glyphosate.
