Dylan Townsend stands on the beach watching commercial jets fall out of the sky like oak leaves twirling in the wind. Time travel and the apocalypse? interesting..

This is a great story! lots of twists and turns, and a great ending!
While listening to the story at first, I kept wondering what it was about. it took a bit to get into the apocalypse. But its a very fast paced great book while getting to it.
I was unaware it had anything to do about time travel, and was surprised when the topic came up.
This is my first book ever about time travel, and I was worried that once it was mentioned, I would get lost about the explanation of it. But Thankfully, I wasn't. and its really not about "time jumping". It actually turned in to a great way to explain a lot of things.

This was a great story, and did move quickly. I would of given this 5 stars, but I really could not stand Izzy. though I did try to like her, but I could not understand, or care for her. things are falling part all over the US, and she just didn't have a care in the world. Even though she knew it was going to happen. I would think that with everything going on, the apocalypse, she would not be so carefree.

Road Warrior with a twist

I have to admit this story confused me at first. The prologue didn't seem to connect with the story at all, but patience is rewarded. There is a slow start to the book and I was starting to wonder when the apocalypse was happening. Once it did, then things got really interesting.

I have to say I found the main character, Dylan, to be a bit annoying ..... dense and self-absorbed. You would think being in the Army would have taught him to take orders rather than dither about, but, his personality wins out in the end.

There are Road Warrior type scenes in the book and time travel. I have to admit with the ending I was wondering how Dylan's personal time line could have survived the plot twist; like most time traveling (re: Stephen King's 1963) there should be a re-set, so the plot line should have re-set ..... listen to it and figure it out for yourself. It's worth the time.

What is great book. I was teetering on the edge with the twists and turns of the story but the author never went over the line, taking the story too the edge of too twisty without going over the limit. I will definitely be reading this again.

Not your typical EMP apocalypse story.

I enjoyed this, but it's not your typical EMP apocalypse story. Does not go where you expect it to. This one is more about relationships, love triangles, and how we all affect each other's lives. Frankly, the book could have been written without the EMP event, and still have arrived at the same ending.

Tourist of Apocalypse

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Good character building and good story with a little surprised at the ending.

Wow..an unscheduled trip but a great destination

This was a complete surprise of a story. The first chapter was really confusing but once you get into the story is it makes sense. Don't get thrown off by that first peek into the story.

This aubiobook was a pleasant surprise. The story is well done. The main characters are engaging and keep the listener eagerly following the story. The writing is interesting and witty. There are a number of interesting twists, big and little, throughout the story that make this a fun and entertaining listen.

The narration was easy to listen to and the narrator did a good job delivering both the witty and often snarky comments that made this a fun listen that had me laughing and smirking throughout the story.

Engaging book

I enjoy the apocalypse look on life, it is always interesting to see the different, yet very similar takes people have on how things would play out. For the most part, authors have a very low respect for what us humans would do and how we react. This book is no different in that front and not really original. But still offers engaging characters and story and the backdrop to how things all come together is well done and I found myself enjoying the book a lot, including Scott's narration. I plan to check out some of C.F. Wallers other books and see if is abilities carry beyond this one.

Loved this book, now one of my all time favorites! The story was imaginative. The action thrilling.the love interest compelling.left me wishing for more story of the characters.the reader for this audiobook had fantastic inflection.all in all a highly enjoyable listen.

A wild time travel & post-apocalyptic mashup

Tourists of the Apocalypse was like peeling an onion. It had many layers, and each one got you closer to the core. The book was broken into different parts and each one built upon the next (except the first, but that is addressed later in the book). Each part was built on the last part really drawing the reader into the story.

I didn't purposely read another time travel book so close to All Our Wrong Todays, but this was a totally different take on time travel (ironically ironing out some of the paradoxes that AOWT's brought up.

The story follows Dylan as he stumbles upon a group of people that are moving into his neighborhood. He befriends them one-by-one and finds himself almost brought into the group. After Dylan finds out exactly why this group is here, he isn't sure what to think. There is a lot more to this story, but describing any more of it will definitely spoil it for other readers.

The story itself was really fun and different. I was a little lost at the beginning, but as I mentioned earlier, once the book was near finishing I now understood the first chapter(s). Mainly following Dylan as he grows up, learns of his fate and the fate of the world around him, finds love, loses love, loses love again, and continues to learn and grow. I found Dylan to be really easy to read and understand. He was a likable character who lent himself really well to Tourists of the Apocalypse.

The last two hours or so had me riveted to my seat. I needed to know what was going to happen. I had some ideas and I also had an idea that it wasn't going to be a complete "Hollywood" ending either. Without saying too much, I will say that Waller didn't let me down. The ending felt very thought out and realistic (for a time travel book).

A totally different take on both post-apocalyptic and time travel novels. CF Waller really does a great job weaving heartache with laughs and love with loss into Tourists of the Apocalypse.

The narration was done by J. Scott Bennett who does a great job voicing Dylan. I really enjoyed this narration and it allowed me to get into the story deeper and deeper.

I was given a copy of this book which has not affected my review in any way.
