About this listen

In To the Far Blue Mountains, Louis L’Amour weaves the unforgettable tale of a man who, after returning to his homeland, discovers that finding his way back to America may be impossible.

Barnabas Sackett was leaving England to make his fortune in the New World. But as he settled his affairs, he learned that a royal warrant had been sworn out against him and that men were searching for him in every port. At issue were some rare gold coins Sackett had sold to finance his first trip to the Americas - coins believed to be part of a great treasure lost by King John years before.

Believing that Sackett possesses the rest of the treasure, Queen Bess will stop at nothing to find him. If he’s caught, not only will his dream of a life in America be lost, but he will be brutally tortured and put to death on the gallows.

rereading a wonderful series.

I have read all the books by Louis L'Amour when I was in my teens in early 20s. now that I am busy 60 years of age I wish to listen to them and relive a little bit of my younger self. I started to listen do these books again a couple of days ago and again I found myself being unable to put the book down as it were. I have discovered you have the sackett series in order and that is the way I wish to listen to them. I am grateful for this and I thank you immensely. so far I have read the first three books actually listen to them and it brings back fond memories of many many hours of enjoyment when I was younger. I again am enjoying these books and I hope to read all of Louis l'amour's books again, even though it was written by his children. these books are just as good as I remember them, thank you...

One of the best written by arguably the best.

One of the best written by arguably the best. Read this awesome epic as a teen. Totally different and wondrous experience hearing it now as a father and grandfather.

still one of the best Sackett books ever.

Barnabus Sackett and his tales and still my favorite of all the sacketts. The way the story builds and progresses is phenomenal.

Great Story

So glad I decided to start from the beginning. A truly great story to start the Sackett name. I've read other Sackett books but now I'll hear them in order here

Very touching in so many ways.

I enjoyed this story so much as while fiction it had a great deal of history woven into it. I look forward to the continuation of Sackett story.

One of the greatest sequels with the toughest ending

A great follow-up to the sackett’s land. An ending to make a grown man cry and set up the stories of the sons.
