About this listen

Elara has been thoroughly taken in by the Demon King’s trickery, and she is determined not to let him back into her heart after all the lies.

But with the promise of his help rescuing her mother, Elara finds herself agreeing to a blood bargain to stay with him, learn to use her mysterious demon magic, and pretend to be his betrothed.

When the Daemon Lords issue their ultimatum for Elara to prove her loyalty, Elara will have to tread carefully between love, duty, desire, and vengeance to uphold her vow to leave the Demon King at the end of their bargain.

To Break a Demon Curse is the second book in the King and Coven series, and a spicy romantasy tale featuring forced proximity, fates mates, enemies to lovers, and fake betrothal.

Fantasy Romance

I recently finished To Break A Demon Curse by Madeleine Eliot book two in the King and Coven series, and godsss, I somehow loved this second installment even more than the first! It was fantastic 💃🏽 I completed a re-read of this story on audio and loved it as well!!

🐍This teasing, taunting, yet tender and swoon worthy enemies to lovers story begins a few short days after the concluding events of To Hunt A Demon King. Through her own heartache and betrayal, Elara attempts to find a way forward that will properly guard her heart as she uses a blood bargain to secure assistance in freeing her mother from the crone.

✨The plot was absolutely intriguing as we learned more about the motivations of the crone, and the potentially long forgotten prophecies. I loved the personal histories explored as the characters were further developed, and the continued world building as the histories of the gods, demons, and witches were discussed.

🐍The relationship between the main characters is one of emotional vulnerability and of passionate and primal need that I absolutely loved….Especially the more possessive and insatiable moments they share 🫦

✨I highly recommend To Break A Demon Curse to those who enjoy fantasy romance and romantasy.

Amazing

I left the first book and absolutely fell into this second book. I really enjoyed getting to see more of the court and getting more background. A great amount of steam, and a little more action in this one! Five big stars from me.

Tower and Justice cards will rain.

I am obsessed with Elara and the Demon King. To say I have binged all three of theses books would be an understatement. Bring on book Three where the Tower will fall and Justice will rain.

Downgrade

Liked the first book of the series. This installment could have used some heavy editing; author has created this actually very interesting world and system of magic, all embroiled in a larger conflict, and yet all we hear about is “OMG but he LIED TO ME!” for half the book, followed by a second half of gratuitous sex scenes that add nothing to the characters or the plot. You could just listen to the last 40 min.
