Author as narrator a big mistake.
I’ve always enjoyed Rita Mae Browns novels the Sister mysteries being my favorites. I chose to get this on audible to have doing chores. I was very disappointed in the skill of her reading. It was like listening to a child reading. Like she was surprised when there were further words that followed. She didn’t finish the sentences smoothly. I don’t think I will listen to any any other readings by her.

Great plot but author should stick too writing her books and not reading them.
Rita Mae Brown is a terrific author and I truly enjoy her series of books. She needs to write her stories and and not narrate them. During this title Brown was reading the book aloud not dramatizing the story like paid audiobook narrators do. That said, I do have her next book release date on my calendar.
