My granddaughter Riley is 9 years old she requests to hear this story just about every time we get into the car….it has been quite a few years now and she never tires of it. The little pictures that accompany the story are very sweet too.

The last time I heard this story was on Reading Rainbow with Lavar Burton when I was around 5 years old and I never forgot it! Hearing it again brought all my childhood memories flooding back!

The story itself is a classic! You will never forget a name like Tikki Tikki Tembo ... or the rest of the characters - from the caring and exasperated younger brother to the neglectful mother and the dreamy old man.

A cautious tale, it teaches plenty of life lessons for kids and parents alike!

That moment when you find a childhood favorite!

As a retired teacher I remember the delight of my first graders as they listened to the repetitions of that great long name. They repeated it from memory and giggled as the eyes of parents opened wide at their ability. I was delighted to find it on Audible at such a reasonable price. I could not resist. As I listened to Peter Thomas reading that great long name with suitable expression, I giggled aloud again.

This is one of my all time favorite childhood books. I love being able to pass it along to my friends and family's children! Listening to the reader and being able to follow along with the illustration was amazing! Made me feel like a kid again back at story time or being read to sleep!

Moral Lesson!
