Vague but still entertaining

I hesitated to listen to this book because I am in full support of the free Britney movement and all that it stands for, but after seeing the media completely degrade Jamie as if she isn't a living being, I decided that I should give her a chance and listen without judgment.
There are points of repetition, small pieces of stories left incomplete or without context and a TON of the book focuses on Britney from Jamie's view - all of which the media has focused on.
What they don't say is that you can feel Jamie's emotions in her words. Whether every detail is fact or not, it feels like her truth and that's ultimately what books about famous people are. If you wanted only facts, you'd miss the fact that we're all humans who interpret our worlds thru our own views and have unique experiences. I do feel this provides a little insight into Jamie and I'd honestly listen to more from her if it was available. I can't imagine how it would feel to have the entire world attacking you and for that, I give her credit for handling the weight of it all.

Simply amazing!

OMG! She’s such a light in this dark world. You can tell by her book she’s so sweet and only wants the best for others. She speaks her truth in such a beautiful way and never wants to hurt anyone else. Her maturity in her story is so beautiful! So proud of her and for her! In a world when everyone tells you what to do I’m proud she has stood her ground. I loved all of the behind the scene details she gives you! Beautiful Jaime Lynn! Please don’t even stop speaking your truth!

Narration is terrible

For someone who’s an actress, the narration should’ve been waaaaaaay better.
Doesn’t sound professional at all.
At times, I was shocked at her egocentrism. It happened often.

I do feel for her and what happened to her daughter. Glad she was ultimately ok!

Hmm

This family is consistent in their vague descriptions of certain events-events that are the most intriguing to readers. I’ve listened to both Britney and Jamie Lynn’s books and both left me with feeling the Spears family is intensely private and protective and will always be. No matter how much they slander each other at times in these books there is a tight bond there. There was some stumbling on her part in pronouncing the “big” words in this book as she was reading which lends me to believe some other reviewers in that she had some help writing it. Overall it was nice to hear her point of view, just wish if they were going to write books they actually answered the lingering questions everyone has…..

From Childstar to womanhood

I’ve been a fan of Jamie Lynn Spears since Zoey101, I’ve loved following her songwriting and music career as well. I was excited to read this new venture of her career. With the publicity about this book in the headlines that the media ran with I didn’t know what to expect. As usual they totally blew things out of proportion for click bait and drama. She had her story to tell and she did just that. It was interesting seeing an inside look at her career as a child star, to a musician, wife and mother. My only complaint with this book was it was not long enough, I hope she’ll write another sometime.

Insightful, encouraging, heartbreaking

Overall, this gives a lot of insight into Jamie Lynn’s journey. I give her a lot of respect for sharing her story and making herself vulnerable, especially knowing the hate she would receive for it. Having said that, at times I found her story hard to follow and that it jumped around (reference something from the past/future and assumes the reader knows what she’s referencing). I wish many of her explanations in the book were more detailed, they were not specific. She would say things like, “make poor choices, toxic environment, etc” but never give specifics to the reader. Overall, I did think it was encouraging and heartbreaking. The novel painted a picture about her struggles and why the way things are the way they are. Kids or not, one chapter will leave you sobbing and with chills.

Worth the $$$

I like the fact how she talks about her family and how it was like for HER growing up. Mentions Britney a couple times mostly positively. Even talks about Dan Snieder in a very positive manner unlike Jennette Mcurrdy’s memoir. Whatever happened to the reboot? Give it a listen and look at issues through Jaimes persepective.. and not just the medias.

never thought about her struggles. It's easy to just mesh her together with Britney. This book sets her apart.

Love her vulnerability

She did such a great job telling her story and being empathetic of others! Highly recommend!

I read Britney first

I find this book introspective especially for such a young women birthed into such a crazy world. A little repetitive but overall lots of reflection on her part.
