Very good!

Any additional comments?

I received a free copy of Thief of the Gods by Roberto Scarlato in exchange for an unbiased review. This review copy Audiobook was provided by the author/narrator/publisher free of charge via Audiobook Boom. With that said, I found Thief of the Gods to be very good. It held my attention from beginning to end. If you like time travel, Sci-Fi, or just a good short story I would recommend Thief of the Gods. T.W. Ashworth did a great job narrating and bringing this story to life.

I enjoyed this short story

Thief of the Gods: An Area 51 Confession
By: Roberto Scarlato Narrated by: T. W. Ashworth
I enjoyed this short story. It was written well and I recommend it to other readers. It’s a quick and smooth read with some interesting information about life on other planets. I rate it with 3.5 stars. I would have like to hear a bit more emotion in the narrator’s voice, but the story was still a good listen.

Made my commute so much better

What did you love best about Thief of the Gods?

Of course I loved the story, but length was also a factor to my enjoyment because I was able to listen to it in one go during my commute, and I even found myself walking a little slower after getting off the bus just so I could listen to those last few minutes before work. Only after the book finished did I realize I had been wide-eyed during God knows how long - people on the street must have found me funny.
I'm divided between loving this wonderful, fast-paced progression... and screaming "MORE! I NEED MORE!"

Have you listened to any of T. W. Ashworth’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I hadn't listened to T. W. Ashworth's performance before, but he did pack a punch. The main character's descent into madness was aptly performed, the way his voice started to crack by the end. Other characters were also nicely interpreted, and I was happy that Margo had an identifiable voice that did not sound forcedly feminine.

Any additional comments?

This was fast-paced and the journal format worked well even in audio format, I really could not put it down! I recommend this to anyone with a little time on their hands - specially if they're into first person narratives, conspiracy theories, sci-fi (I had never heard about a spaceship like that!), and Area 51 in general. Wonderful ride, this was, and I'll certainly check other titles by the same author.

A diary about a secret project

I received a copy of this book in audio format from the author in exchange for an honest review.

In the year 1947 one of the scientists working at Area 51 receives a notification about a new secret project involving some spaceships recently arrived. He will record his experiences in a diary which he will be kept hidden. He soon disagrees with what it needs to be done, and escapes from Area 51 to try to start a new life.

I like the feeling this short story gave me. It had a clear forties flavor, and the secrecy and urgency of the matters which transpired from the story game me the feeling of watching an old movie.

I think the diary format worked very well for this novella, increasing the secrecy transmitted to the reader. I missed some more character and events development, but having things more detailed would have contradicted the diary format. Since the book is quite short (just over an hour) it is a fast paced story full of action during which the reader will no respite.

T.W. Ashworth was a great choice to narrate this book. I think his voice and style goes perfectly well with the forties atmosphere Scarlato wanted for this story.

I would recommend this book to anyone into urban legends around Area 51. It was an interesting and enjoyable listen.

Great Conspiracy Story

Different story from what I usually listen to. I really enjoyed the story and found the narration enjoyable as well. The thought that even in the 40s the Government could wipe out a Mans past is crazy. Once I started the book i did not stop until it was finished.
Great book for really anyone, it pretty much had it all. Conspiracy, alien, sci fi, love and love loss, mystery etc...

You really can't go wrong with this one. The narrator brings life to the characters and was pretty entertaining as well.
Great job!

Fun

loved the position of the story and loved even more the nostalgic style of the author. The author truly captured the old world version of science fiction in a positive way. Very interested in how we will move forward in the series and if we will keep the same
