Great read.

I’m not going to lie. He did jump around a lot. But I think that’s what makes the story so great. It’s really like listening someone recount their life. The story telling and narration is great. This book helped me a lot. I credit this book with helping me get sober. 100/10 recommend.

Awe-inspiring

I always knew Andy would make an awesome audiobook narrator and I was right! Andy, here is your second career after music! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Andy is very insightful and had me thinking about several things as I was reading it. I was surprised at how open and honest he was in retelling how he got started. I really appreciated that. I hope that my daughter fully pays attention to Andy when she reads this as I believe she can learn a thing or two from how Andy dealt with some of the issues she struggles with even though not everyone handles things the same way. I admire how he overcame his issues and if I didn’t know any better I wouldn’t be able to tell he’s a little shy. He has always been respectful and nice to the BVB/Andy Black fans. I wish I could sit down and have a one on one conversation with him. He always seems to have his head on straight and is very intelligent. This story flows smoothly throughout. I loved hearing the backstory to Knives and Pens, the Vale album and more. I have to say that Vale is my favorite BVB album. The guys are amazing musicians in their own right. When they come together you know it’s going to be an awe inspiring experience. Thanks, Andy for having this vision and seeing it through. I hope you and the guys are around for an extremely long time. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank Andy, Jinxx, Jake, CC, Ashley and now Lonnie on pulling my daughter through some of her darkest times. She wouldn’t be here without your music.

This story hits so many spots for me as huge BVB fan. The way he explains his life and all he's been through is so special to us all. and I'm so glad he is reading this I could lesson for hours. Thank you Andy for this book I will always love you guys ❤️

I love Andy Biersack!

I really enjoyed this book. Andy retells his life so honestly and openly. He managed to tell his life of ups and downs, trials, and tribulations without bashing or blaming anyone else. I think that speaks to what a stand- guy he is. The way he speaks about his parents, grandparents, and wife with such love and adoration just melts my cold heart. I would definitely recommend this book. Even if you are not a BVB fan, his tale of pure determination and execution is something everyone can learn from 👌🏾.

Amazing story

It was awesome hearing Andy’s story with him narrating. His story is inspiring. He is articulate and interesting. I actually purchased the hard copy of this book to give my daughter who struggles with social anxiety and bullying. It just shows how perseverance and passion can make dreams a reality. I have seen Andy live multiple times, but now I feel like I really know him.

A very pleasant surprise! Shame on me!

After seeing Andy Biersack on Worst Firsts with Brittany Furlan Lee, I was curious to get this book. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not the, seemingly fashionable, “horror story tell-all” that so many musicians are writing.

This is a boy’s story to becoming a man without ever giving up on himself and his goals. It’s inspiring. Especially to someone who was also an only child with a desire to be recognized, for good or bad, who grew into an adult with insecurities and anxiety. Not that one would EVER allow others to see or know that! 🙄. I too self medicated. Was wasteful in that I had SO many moments that I should have reveled in rather than brooding over what wasn’t how I had imagined it.
For someone 15 yrs younger than I, you nailed my mindset and resulting reactions in a near mirrored way. I was never in a band, nor did I aspire to be, but I had many of the same heroes you did.
Andy is, as he states, an old soul.
I relate.
