About this listen

Today's view of history cannot account for ancient anomalies, such as the Pyramids and advanced knowledge contained in India's Vedas. But in 1894, an Indian sage gave us an explanation not only for our hidden past but for the trends of today and for our future enlightenment - the 24,000-year yuga cycle.

This is the first book that actually is focused and infinitely understandable in its attempt to clarify many mysteries and concepts from past ages. Brilliantly written. A must for anyone interested in spirituality and religion and who has an interest in many of the unexplained mysteries from the past.

Logical and Concise.

If you listen with an open mind, you will enjoy this book. The ideas presented, while being contrary to popular science, are thought provoking and lead to a more optimistic view of our struggles as a species. If they are right, I feel much more hopeful for the destiny of mankind.

Side note: I have also read and enjoyed Autobiography of a Yogi and Holy Science. I recommend those if you end up enjoying this.

Probably right

This book is very well done and packed full of information about the cycle of mankind. I’m sure I will listen to this title again.

Third time listening to this audiobook.

Stories are great, bonus pdf was a brilliant idea to include, it would have been very difficult to understand the evolution cycle without that.

Only con is… story could have been summarized, it felt too long after chapter 12. Made this book appear like a research paper than a story.

Interesting read to understand human evolution

None of us really know what the past was and how we came to be, all are just theories and some better than others. This story of our past really resonated with me and i thoroughly enjoyed the journey it took me on. Is it the truth, did it really happen this way, is this the cycle of consciousness, I have no idea but I’m grateful for the perspective and the book. Thank you

The great cycles of time, the yugas, are very well explained, with historical data and examples, correlating with scientific discoveries. Definitely a book to refer to many times.

Excellent explanation of the yugas

The book has content that cannot be verified empirically but it is fantastic and fascinating surely. If you are familiar with Eastern spiritual concepts the contents of this book may not come as a surprise. Frankly, they sound intuitive deep down no matter how strange they sound to our ears. A lot of religious philosophy would actually tie neatly into it. Keep an open heart and you might actually come out a little more sceptical about the modern “obvious” knowledge.

Fascinating

There is so much we don’t know. Suspend disbelief and enjoy the mind bending idea that “man” has been on this earth for 50 million years — through thousands of Yuga cycles. Loved this.

I am a firm believer and in the steady evolution of knowledge, which often requires the upheaval and supplanting of existing theories and generally accepted “truths”.

This book discusses the four Yugas in detail and then goes on to argue why we are a part of a timeless cycle and not the product of the Neolithic Revolution that led to modern civilization.

It is fascinating and worthwhile, and, given the state of the world, invaluable in creating a sense of context.

I highly recommend this book.
