Very entertaining WW2 era homeside mystery

I liked the way this book gives glimpses of what the mainland went through during the war. The mystery was good, even though it was easy to guess some elements there were still a few twists along the way.

Loved

This book kept me guessing "whodunit" with a bit of a surprise at the end. Highly recommend. Didn't want to stop listening!

Love those old books written in the first half of the century

Excellent classic mystery by one of the original Queens of Mystery.

The narration is mediocre. She tries for various voices, but they all sound the same. The women’s voices all sound whiney and the men’s are sharp and grating.

I quit halfway through due to the narration and not enough interest in the story to tolerate the confusions from characters all sounding the same.
