About this listen

From the laugh-out-loud Sunday Times bestselling author of When Life Gives You Lemons and The Mum Who Got Her Life Back. Fiona Gibson is guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

‘The voice of modern woman’ Marie Claire

After yet another disaster, Lorrie is calling time on online dating. She might be single in her forties, but she’s got a good job, wonderful children and she’s happy. This, Lorrie decides, is going to have to be enough.

That is, until she receives a very unexpected request from France. Antoine Rousseau, who had once turned a lonely French exchange trip into a summer of romance, wants to see her – after thirty years.

But Lorrie is a responsible woman. She can’t exactly run off to Nice with the man who broke her teenage heart . . . can she?

Outstanding narration

Sweet, charmingly funny story with a rock star performance by Emma Gregory. The story was a smidge longer than it needed to be, but definitely worth the credit. I will keep my eyes open for more Gibson and Gregory pairings.

sad story

I searched for a 'comedy audiobook' and bought this book thinking it would be a funny story. it even was advertised as a story that would make you "laugh out loud". For me, it was not. In fact, I felt sad when I got done even though there was a HEA.

Well written and light hearted

This was a pacey, funny rom com....main character was amusing and the circle of family / friends had just enough involvement in the story to make it easy to follow. Narrator did an excellent job with accents and emphasis. I really enjoyed it.

Wonderful!

So nice to look listen to a story about a real woman with real life issues. You can easily relate to her and her heart felt feelings towards the people in her life. I loved it, beginning to end.

Sweet, Funny, Real

The narrator was perfect. The story perfectly layered, like a cake with colorful icing that still manages to have a fruit-filled center that isn't gooey. Lorrie Foster is almost ready to love again after the death of her children's father, though she doesn't know it. Her kids, with the help of her best friend turn to the internet. Then Antoine, a teenage summer romance from a French holiday resurfaces. Lorrie deals with questions on aging gracefully, feeling beautiful, fighting for employment, oncoming empty nest and a drunk driver. Its English without being stuffy. Well done.

Did not laugh out loud!

Good story, chuckled in a few spots, but most assuredly not hilarious. Of course heroine finds true love right under her nose.

Easy listen

This book flew by. Enjoyed the story and related to the main character. Not laugh-out-loud funny, but some very clever bits.
