Excellent Story, Excellent Audiobook Narrator

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

We wanted to listen to this book as a family during a recent trip. We enjoyed the story. This story is different than the 1939 movie and we enjoyed listening for differences. This story is excellent and we see why Hollywood then decided to adapt it for a movie. There were some subtle commentary of life in a small midwestern state that the adults enjoyed, and our entire family (4th grader, 6th Grader and parents) enjoyed the story and the journey.

What other book might you compare The Wizard of Oz to and why?

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles, and any other fantasy book where children take a journey.

What about B. J. Harrison’s performance did you like?

We selected this narrator because we were on a budget and this was one of the less expensive unabridged versions on Audible. However, we loved this narrator! His expression and use of different voices for different characters were wonderful. We would recommend this version for anyone wanting to listen to an unabridged version of this book.

Any additional comments?

This book was originally published in 1900. However, our family really enjoyed listening to it in 2016. It has stood the test of time.

Excellent narration!

The narrator is really good. He skillfully adjusted his voice to various characters which made an already beautiful story even more engaging.
