Good idea took too long

This book would have been interesting if it wasn’t so drawn out and slow. The plot was great and I would have loved this book if it weren’t for the dragging & nagging. I’m still curious to try another Hester Fox book to see if she gets better at getting to the point

Good story with many twists and turns

I like the narrator, she makes the story interesting and helps to engage the listener

Really well done Gothic romance. The characters were well developed and their actions made sense considering their insecurities, time period, and relationships to each other. There was a careful slow build up with gentle suspense throughout. This was one that kept me up late wanting to know what was going to happen next.

Wonderful storytelling

I thoroughly enjoy this compelling tale. Lovely prose combined with good character development and excellent narration made this story hard to put down.

Gothic haunting + a bit of green witchcraft

Enjoyed it all the way through, had me feeling feelings and fully invested in Lydia’s life. Loved the narration too, felt a little Judy Garland in Meet Me in St Louis

wonderful story and romance mixed in to a tale of a family of good witches and learning to find inner strength through bad things

Not much witch

Mostly romance very little witch, magic, ghosts or scariness. Kept waiting for the magic, lots of sensitive girls.

Wonderful story to lose yourself in

I enjoyed the character development. Even though the tension in the book gave me anxiety, it was well placed. And I love a happy ending.

The narrator sounded like all the men’s voices were done through clenched teeth. Her syntax and rhythm were wonderful. The variety of distinctive voices were minimal and I had difficulty distinguishing between characters by voice alone.

Enjoyed the time I spent with these characters.

One of the best witch/ ghostly/love stories I've read in ages! although I get a little frustrated with the heroine on occasion for her stupidity. no matter, I still loved it.

excellent on all accounts. starts off intriguing and continues throughout the book. I couldn't leave it for long.
