Publisher's summary

""Ainsley Arment has emerged as one of the most prominent voices in [this] grass-roots community."" — New York Times

As parents, we dream of creating a magical childhood for our kids, yet it can be so easy to slip into autopilot. Ainsley Arment-- a mother of five, founder of the thriving community Wild + Free, and bestselling author-- is no stranger to the barrage of decisions, opportunities, and daily tasks that each day brings. But what Ainsley has discovered is that the magic of life isn’t found in the hustle and bustle of constant activity but in the intentional ordinary decisions of our days. And when we assume that a family has to look or act a certain way, we miss the opportunity to build a meaningful and fulfilling life together.

Drawn from her family's stories and those shared by the Wild + Free community, The Wild + Free Family explores how to create a family culture that breaks the mold by seeking to connect with our children, unleash their gifts, pursue a shared vision together, and redeem generational brokenness, among so much more. Inside these pages are Ainsley’s words of encouragement, honesty, and wisdom, guiding all parents to create a home where families can forge their own path to love stronger, live more fully, and grow closer to each other.

Inspiring!

I’m a mom of a toddler living in the heart of San Francisco. I read this book as I am seeking inspiration to chart my own course in motherhood and be the best possible mom to by little girl. I love that the book isn’t a “how to” but rather an anthem to the soul of motherhood, at its core how to embrace being mothers to our unique children, connect with them, love them, love and accept ourselves. Highly recommend.

Like a breath of fresh air

Ainsley did a fantastic job at showing how parents can find that ‘sweet spot’ between work, kids, society, and all the other things we juggle. Her message and ideas are based on realistic principles and not lofty goals us parents can’t attain. A great book and very well read!

Balmy to my Mama Heart

Loved this book! It’s inspiring and gracefully touched points many of us parents are seeking to hear inspiration towards and affirmation we are heading in the right direction. Thank you so much!

Really good performance…

I like the readers voice. The “story” itself was also pretty good. Some scripture and biblical principles throughout but not referenced as such, not sure why. My favorite chapter was the one about not growing weary. Lots of encouragement and relating to moms in the thick of parenting and beginning to homeschool. Good real life stories tied in that help us get to know Ainsley and her family more. She was vulnerable and I appreciate that.

Love their perspective on parenting and life

I definitely recommend this book to people with kids or wanting to have kids. It’s a great perspective on parenting (it’s not a parenting book) but it gives you a different more peaceful way to parenting and living life, it’s a great read.
