The White Donkey explores the experience of being a marine as well as the challenges that veterans face upon their return home, and its raw power will leave you in awe.

WOW what a powerful but sad story.
I can not recommend this book enough it is an incredible story and it was helpful for my to have the physical copy and listen to the audio book. Just wow. I have no words.

Great story
Awesome story! It hits home for vets and shows what it's like after war. Shows the side of the Marine Corps other than the "Corps Values" Kool-aid drinking side. Your brothers are the ones you can count on. It's ok to be human.

Amazingly Relatable
An amazing, relatable rendition of one Marine's journey. Uiarte beautifully captures the typical grunt upbringing and persona of the modern infantryman. Abe's experiences give insight to the humor, suspense, frustration, disappointment and patriotic roller coaster of the endless wars.
Thank you for bringing awareness to the silent battle many endure from exposure to combat. A must read for all!

It gave an inside perspective of what it’s like to be a grunt/Juinor marine in the 03 community. Any veteran or active marine who was a grunt can instantly relate to it.
