About this listen

For eight strangers in a Los Angeles hostel, even the other side of the world isn’t far enough. The craving for a new identity and the desire to start again is something they have in common. But they discover that it doesn't matter where you are or who you are - if you can't lay the past to rest, fate and coincidence have a way of catching up with you.

Twist and Turns

Loved the story. Full of multiple twists and turns you never see coming. Narrator did well doing different voices for each character.

Not my favorite by the author

I felt like I spent the first 1/3 of the book trying to keep straight in my mind all the characters and all their multiple time lines. It came together in the end though and made sense while it was all over. Good book, I feel like everything I’ve read of his is good.

Decent

So much going on- and what a web we weave as humans!! FYI to the narrator, Southerners don’t say AGAIN like (A-Gay-ne), we say it like (A-Gin). I’m from Alabama and NO ONE here talks like that. That’s from the old South, from around 100 years ago.

Great Book

I was a little worried I would not like this book or it be a DNF, but man am I glad I stuck around. Ruth and Tommy were why I stuck around, especially Ruth. I also liked Eric lol. My heart goes out to Savannah though! I enjoyed all the characters. One twist after another. The Vacation can easily be turned into a movie/series but I’m glad I experienced the book instead. The male narrator was also amazing!

Better read than listened to

I enjoyed this book, but I recommend reading it rather than listening to it. There are many characters and the book bounces around between various characters & time periods. It was very hard to follow at first, though it all came together at the end.

Too much, too much.

As much as I love Marrs and find him very entertaining and original, this one isn’t my favorite. There are so many stories that it becomes tiresome jumping from one character to another. It’s too much information while not being enough for any story to be deep enough.

Another great Marrs book

Took me a minute to keep characters straight, but loved how their stories wove together.....lost and broken souls finding their way intermixed with a few unsavory sorts. Peter Noble narration 5 star.

Great book

My 2nd book by this author and I am realizing I am really liking his style of writing. How there are a set of different people and their stories are told separately and yet somehow connected…
I am going to pick my next book by this author as soon as I’m done with this review.

Strange story

with 162 chapters jumping over time and character, this is difficult to keep track of especially at the beginning when the point of plot, who is a hero or heroine, who is an antihero or antiheroine are all unclear. in fact there are many of each of these. However the idea becomes clear and the story is rather clever.
