About this listen

From Morgan Matson, the best-selling author of Since You've Been Gone, comes a feel-good story of friendship, finding yourself, and all the joys in life that happen while you're busy making other plans.

Andie has a plan. And she always sticks to her plan.

Future? A top-tier medical school.
Dad? Avoid him as much as possible (which isn't that hard considering he's a congressman and he's never around).
Friends? Palmer, Bri, and Toby - pretty much the most awesome people on the planet. Who needs anyone else?
Relationships? No one's worth more than three weeks.

So it's no surprise that Andie's got her summer all planned out, too.

Until a political scandal costs Andie her summer premed internship and lands both her and Dad back in the same house together for the first time in years. Suddenly she's doing things that aren't Andie at all - working as a dog walker, doing an epic scavenger hunt with her dad, and maybe, just maybe, letting the super-cute Clark get closer than she expected. Palmer, Bri, and Toby tell her to embrace all the chaos, but can she really let go of her control?

Lovely story, good narration, just a bit lengthy. Could have told the story in probably half the time, but I enjoyed the secondary fantasy quotes and the fact that there was a writer with writers block featured. Not to mention the love for dogs 👍

Sweet, but a little long

Good book. I predicted the outcome about half way through but it was still really good.

"You have to try. You have to take your chances. Go and attempt and see what happens. And even if you fail - especially if you fail - come back with your experience and your hard-won knowledge and a story you can tell. And then later you can say, without regret or hesitation... 'Once, I dared to dare greatly”

It was a really cute contemporary and a good mix between drama and fun. The book deals with some heavy topics and how our main character, Andy, is dealing with loss and changes in her life, while learning new things about herself like the fact that you can't always plan everything, sometimes you have to go with the flow because Things will happen! and I loved the fact that not all the issues got solved, because that's real life!
The only thing I would say against it is that I found the first few chapters a little slow, that's why it was not a 5 stars read.

Really cute contemporary

I was needing a light hearted listen and this hit the marks! I didn’t want to stop it and didn’t want the story to end!

Cute and lighthearted

The narrator voice was a bit flat. But appropriate for the story. The story isn’t a very intense story. An easy listen. You can stop and pick back up very easy.

Amazing

I’m about to start my third book by the author after this and Since You’ve Been Gone. I liked the latter a bit more more, but both are YA at its sweetest. Morgan Matson takes good kids and puts them on a positive path. They have tension, teen trouble and angst. Her books are fun escapes especially for us adults. They have PG 13 sexual content and cursing, so they are suitable for teens but I enjoyed it as fond memories of my way-yonder past. The narrator was very good and sounded sweet and kind. Hopefully I’ll like “Amy and Roger…” at least as much.

Another cute story by Morgan Matson
