Critic reviews

"Where did Byron Katie come from? She's the real McCoy. Her Work is amazingly effective - a simple, straightforward antidote to the suffering we unnecessarily create for ourselves." (David Chadwick, author of Crooked Cucumber: The Life and Zen Teaching of Shunryu Suzuki)

it is so nice to hear the work being utilized in real time in the back and forth of what it looks like

Katie offers ways to be at peace which may put many worriers at peace. It is difficult to practice but I have found it transformational.

Any additional comments?

In my experience as a therapist and inquirer, this IS the truth behind addiction. Addiction is an attempt to cover up pain, and pain is caused by our beliefs about the world...ESPECIALLY our relationships. How do you react when you believe the thought "this isn't the truth about addiction?" Inquire.

In owning who we are change can happen! I love the humility, the compassion, the unbridled honesty in all those present.

I guess I was looking for a broader discussion about individual addictive processes and less about how others are dealing with family members’ processes. It was good, but I think not what I was particularly looking for.

Interesting sit downs with participants

Would you try another book from Byron Katie Mitchell and/or the narrator?

Yes. I like Katie's work. This recording is compelling, but it is not the TRUTH behind addiction.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Katie's work is very interesting, and I'm sure she has the ability to help people with addiction through her methods. This recording however, does not address addiction.

Not the Truth

These are inquiries with people who know someone who is addicted. Only one inquiry is with an actual addict, but a lot of the work doesn't touch on the actual problem of dependency. I wanted to hear the work being done on the act of using itself.

Not On Addiction Itself
