About this listen

When he is assigned to Paris, CIA officer Tommy Carmellini joins his old boss Jake Grafton on a bold mission: To locate a French intelligence agent who has secret investments in the Bank of Palestine. Together they work to unravel a tangle of espionage, deception, and murder…and develop an elaborate strategy to infiltrate the highest levels of Al Queda.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the G-8 industrialized nations will soon meet in Paris—an event that would make a tempting terrorist target. Throw into the mix the beautiful, clever daughter of the French ambassador to Washington and an Israeli spy or two, and the stage is set for a tour de force of deception and drama.

Soon Carmellini and Grafton unearth a horrifying plan to shake the West as never before. But can they stop the conspiracy without compromising the intelligence source that could bring down Al Queda once and for all? Find out in Stephen Coonts's The Traitor.

I enjoyed the down to earth character of Tom and his comments. Will listen to more.

Fantastic book as expected.

Tommy and Sarah hit it off once again. Grafton with his usual orders sends Tommy and Willie the wire off to France for an epic journey to fight would be terrorists with a twisted plot. Abu Qaseem and Anrue Rodae try their best to create turmoil for the G8 summit in Paris.

Dennis Boutsikaris is my second favorite narrator to Eric G. Dove. Both narrators do wonderful jobs distinguishing the characters making for a pleasant listen to Stephen Coonts awesome books!

Funny, entertaining, well read

I got a kick out of this book. The author has a great sense of humor and the reader read the lead character with bravado and pizazz. The plot is timely and it was nice to get some perspective on European (French) politics and what it's like in Paris.

It's a fast paced book and read at a fast pace, so things move quickly and it's easy to get a little lost in the plot, but it all comes together in the end.

The book is what it is, mind candy, so don't expect any real depth or insight into Al-Qaida, just a fun spy novel with likable unidimensional characters, a romance, and plenty of action.

The Traitor

The Traitor is fun and fast from beginning to end; especially enjoyed Dennis Boutsikaris and his wise guy inflections of a well written spy novel by a favorite author, Stephen Coonts; my bet is you won't be disappointed. I will be looking forward to more of the same caliber by this reader and author. Ken

Enjoyed It

The narrator was excellent.
At first, I thought that I had made a mistake by selecting this book, but as time went by I began to enjoy it more and more. The ending was a bit weak - but most authors seem to flounder at the end.

Major Recovery from Carmellini Book 1

The first Carmellini book was atrocious. Filled with cliches and “Slip Mahoney” English. This book was better written than the first and the plot had a number of twists to keep a listener wanting more.

Great yarn!

First encounter with Stephen Coonts and I am a fan! Tight story without any distractions and almost did not want it to end.
