Burdened by the weight of his deception, Earnest Miller reveals the details about his past to Sylvia - and to his wife, Rhoda. The long-kept secret alters everything for the close-knit family, and when word of Earnest's deceit reaches others in the community, the truth pits Amish neighbors against one another and threatens to dry up Earnest's livelihood - as well as to break up Sylvia's engagement to the preacher's grandson.

Can the Millers find a way forward through the turmoil to a place of forgiveness and acceptance?

As usual

As usual Beverly Lewis writes a wonderful story of love, heartache and healing in Amish country. Can’t wait to read the next book.

Powerful Storyline

I loved this book. I truly enjoy books about the Amish. It is quite enticing and really interesting. like all of Beverly's books it keeps you locked on until the last page.

Stina Neilson does such a fabulous job! Beverly Lewis has done it again...written a wonderful story that flows with interest, emotion, and God’s grace.

Tinderbox

I enjoyed this story. The narrator was easy to listen to and follow along. curiosity although part of human nature can really influence many events and. people.
I did not understand the big deal made about Earnest"s marriage/divorce.
This was the proverbial Pandora's box and its consequences. 18 yr old Sylvia Miller, because of her curiosity and disobedience, opened up a past t(her father's) that should of been forgotten--or should it. There are lots of surprises although for Englishers it is not troublesome. There needed to be and was a good deal of forgiveness and each taking on the responsibility of of their own actions.

Odd Ending

I guess I was a little let down with the hanging feeling in the end. The end left too many questions. But overall the story and the narration was great.

Great book to listen to.

This was my first audio book. I loved it. Can't wait to listen to the next one.
