About this listen

Driven and efficient businesswoman Vivienne Alexander reluctantly finds herself at a speed-dating night after her friend buys her a ticket. It'll probably be a waste of time anyway, she tells herself. She doesn’t need a relationship to make her whole.

So, when an alluring stranger with bright smiles and a riot of auburn hair predicts Vivienne will be in her bed by the end of the night, she’s not sure which is more surprising: the sheer cockiness or the thrill that shoots through her.

Free-spirited temp Carla Cooke loves living life to the fullest but has decided it’s time to put down some roots. She’s pumped to start her new job working for a finance company until she discovers who she’ll be working for. Who knew the icy woman she’d teased at speed dating would be her temporary boss?

Now sparks and daggers are both flying. How can this possibly end well?

A lesbian age-gap story that puts some extra sizzle into an office romance.

I was intrigued by the synopsis of the book, but as I got into it, I just didn’t connect with the characters. The plot was OK, but lacked depth in the critical spots from my perspective. I did enjoy the setting and hearing more about New Zealand.

A solid Good - I just don’t connect with the characters

I laughed so much because CC was hilarious. I believe that everyone with a since of humor should get this one. It was romantic and it had just about everything you like in a story. The narrator, Sylvie Taylor, was also excellent. Bravo DONNA JAY!!!

Okay, CC is freaking hilarious. Talk about no filter whatsoever lol. I laughed out loud repeatedly while listening to this book.
The story itself was pretty good. I did enjoy the chemistry between the two MCs. I think it wasn’t too fast or too slow paced. It was only toward the last like hour and a half that I kinda got a little meh about things. In the very end though, it was good. I would still listen to this again despite that little tiny bit. Would recommend!

Mostly Hilarious

The story was good.

Chapter 3 is missing in the audiobook. Besides that, it was a good production.

A cat and mouse game, loaded with humor, tension, and spice. Vivienne and Carla are quite the pair. Carla knows and goes after what she wants, but not Vivienne. She's too busy walking the line and hiding in her closet. Who knew Carla would be just the one to change all that?

Carla is a hoot! LOL!

it's was decent. somewhat long winded in certain area and the narrator was no Lori. I liked the 2 MC but I just think that this could have been much more ...

meh

This was kinda fun 😊

At first, it started out as Vivienne being some sort of ice-queen (which, let's face it - she is), but Carla is just a ray of sunshine, it's hard for anyone not to love her. These two couldn't be any more opposite, but they're actually perfect together. The fun part is watching Carla break down Vivienne's walls. The sweet part is watching how they try to fit into each other's lives.

A disappointing storyline, combined with one dimensional characters, and blatant plot holes. The behavior of one of the characters was borderline predatory and more than a little off-putting. The moral of the story seems to be sexual harassment and refusing to take no for an answer leads to love.

A waste of time and money.
