Story
Stoicism, a school of Hellenistic thought founded in Athens in the third century BC, was one of the most sublime philosophies in the history of Western civilization. It is a way of living that focuses on reality instead of fantasy or idealism. According to its teachings, the path to peace and happiness is found in accepting the moment as it presents itself, by not allowing oneself to be ruled by the desire for pleasure or by the fear of pain.

I can confidently give it a 5-star rating. The narrator's voice was both engaging and calming, which perfectly complemented the wisdom of the Stoic philosophy. The audiobook did an excellent job of explaining Stoicism's principles and how to apply them in our modern, hectic lives. It left me with a deeper understanding of how to find peace and resilience in the face of life's challenges. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone looking to improve their mental well-being and live a more serene life.

Great listen for personal growth!
Another great audiobook by Jordan! I was excited to listen to this book, especially since I got so much out of his last book. In this book again, I was able to relate to my daughter and have her be the symbol of Stoicism in my life and be the bouncing board in learning more about being Stoic. In the last book, I learned that my daughter was an HSP and the superpower it gave her. In this book, I learned that her other superpower is that she is strong, has grit, and sticks to her ways. Some people have told her that she is numb/feelingless, but she is obviously far from that. We are opposites and I have had to learn and grow so much as I parented her. It is amazing to learn about her personality even more (and as she is growing more) and be able to encourage her in her growth and have words to describe her! I love that I can look at my daughter and want to be more like her, the tools in the book will help ground me in my emotions which is something I am always looking for. I just want to grow and be a better version of myself and this book definitely does that and helps you identify the people in your life who are living this way already! I highly recommend this audible!
