About this listen

Just before he's drafted, he realizes his love for his best friend's sister. Will she wait for him?

All of his life Benjamin hadn't noticed Sarah as anything other than his best friend's sister. The last thing he expected was to notice her as more than a friend, but he did. No sooner does he realize his love for her, America enters the war. War changes a man. He'd heard that dozens of times over his life but with every near miss, every new scar, every bullet he feels himself chipping away. Even if he survives to go home to his soulmate, what man would he be? How much of him would she recognize?

Nothing hurt more than watching her soulmate leave for war, the knowledge he might not make it home always at the back of her mind. But life must go on, and the gaping hole Benjamin's absence left needed filling. Searching for her purpose, she finds it in the wounded soldiers who come home, the reminder of Benjamin keeping her afloat in the darkest times.

The war rages on and the longer it goes, the more Benjamin hears her voice in his mind. It's impossible, but no matter how hard he tries, he can't quiet it.

Will there be anything left of the Benjamin Sarah knew by the time he makes it home?

Get lost in this human telepathy romance that can be listened to first in the series or as a standalone.

Another great addition to the series

I'm a huge fan of fated mates and anything paranormal, so this series is right up my alley. I purposefully often don't read a review or book synopsis before I start the next book in a series so I can avoid spoilers. This book didn't follow chronologically in the series but instead filled in some of the family history alluded to in the other books in the series. I would have known that and been a little less confused had I read the synopsis but honestly, my confusion did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. Loved the bits of real world history the author brought in. I like seeing that in a novel. I would have liked more story. This is more novella length.

The narrator did an admirable job with four main characters. A tough job for sure.

This was another great love story on how they became one. War does take a toll on people. But you can get thru it
