However, on their first meeting he is astonished to discover his bride flinches and shies at every movement.

As time progresses, Charles accepts that the home and the children he hoped for, is forfeit now, and he must accept this timid creature who cannot meet his gaze or be truly his wife.

But when a terrifying incident occurs, and Hazel is taken hostage she must face that which she fears the most and Charles must risk his very life to save her.
