About this listen

Manly Palmer Hall (1901-1990) was a Canadian-born author, lecturer, astrologer, and mystic. The Secret Teachings of All Ages is a comprehensive compendium of the ancient occult and esoteric traditions of the world. It looks at the schools of philosophy down the ages, in respect of their origins, notable characters, and influences on civilization. The vast scope of this classic work examines the ancient mythology, ritual, symbolism, arcane, and mystical teachings of, among others, the Druids, Mithraism, Christianity, Gnosticism, Platonism, Hermeticism, the Chaldeans, Paracelsus, Rosicrucianism, and other secret societies. The subjects covered include alchemy, cryptology, Kabbalah, and the Tarot. A valuable source for students of history, philosophy, or mythology.

Such Profound Knowledge and Spiritual Insight

This is such a great body of work. Manly P Hall dedicated so much time to gathering, understanding, and communicating a vast amount of information that can help with the advancement of human civilization and the human soul.

If you’ve never read any of his other work, I highly recommend it! This was the only book I listened to through audio. Happy reading and Being 💗

Beware of biased reviews

The presentation is excellent and very interesting. The reader is terrific. Some commenters attempt to detract suggesting a false annoying accent and a poor recording. I can see how some people can be disappointed but not for the reasons given. The book shows many sources that predate the religions and philosophies that are now claimed as divinely inspired and original ideas. Reading proof of previous ideas of which following religions basically copied as their own and disregarded the sources is bound to ruffle feathers. That sort of attitude is a sign of ancestor worship or idol worship. The lashing out in the form of false reviews is designed to continue an illusion and to mislead others perhaps for the sake of control and manipulation.

Exactly what the title says.

Best unified source of esoteric understanding I've ever seen in one place!! The narrator was wonderful, and I'm sure much wider by the end!

Outdated but still essential

This book touches on almost all topics in western Esotericism. New things have been learned in the 60 years since this was written, but it gives you all the topics to study if you're intersted.

Recommended esoteric reading

For anyone seeking wisdom I recommend the following:

1)The Doctrine and Ritual of High Magic (Levi)
2)Morals and Dogma (Pike)
3)The Kybalion (by the Golden Dawn I guess...) written by who the hell knows.
4) Secret teachings of all ages.(MPH)
5) Do not read,Crowley’s book of the Law,or the book of lies, he is a worse influence than Nietzche.
6)The King James Bible.
7)Bhagavad Gita.

Last, anything Mark Booth’s occult history of the world I believe.
